rich! said:Are the building internals maintained by the council? 'cos you could insist they put steel sheeting over your ceiling ....
brix said:I'm so sorry this has happened. I've been burgled twice before and it feels horrible. Thieving gits - hope they get what they deserve.![]()
Minnie_the_Minx said:yeah, shame they didn't fall through the ceiling and land on something hard

brix said:Not resulting in death you understand... just multiple injuries, perhaps a lost limb...![]()

Minnie_the_Minx said:They'd certainly have trouble getting into the attic on crutches eh![]()

Were you happy with that?aurora green said:Well, the soco arrived about 5 O'clock. Didn't find any prints unfortunately.
And the police came at 9 O'clock this morning.

aurora green said:Actually, I was.
I'm right pissed off now though 'cos I've just had a gas leak and had to have it all switched off, so I've got no hot water, heating or cooker...
Arghhh!!!![]()
'snot my week, is it?![]()

Minnie_the_Minx said:well, they say that things come in threes....

are you worried something will happen AT the pub or at your flat whilst at the pub?

aurora green said:With my luck at the moment, who knows?![]()
Magneze said:Just seen this. Burglars coming through the ceiling, whatever next! Hope everything gets sorted out ok.
Minnie_the_Minx said:tunnels?

ViolentPanda said:Heh, parts of Brixton are so riddled with groundwater that with any luck the burglars would drown!![]()
aurora green said:Actually, I was.
LisaRocket (on another thread about someone screwing her car) said:I'm actually really impressed with the police today. They saw how old and knackered the car was and still spent about an hour getting the prints.

aurora green said:Well the gas is finally back on, but now the real battle begins.
Lambeth sub contractors say they'll come to put a metre square piece of plasterboard onto my ceiling in two weeks time.![]()
I ring the council to query this, saying it's not a good enough solution, what about all around the light fitting etc?
They say something about how the burglars must of come in through my fire escape hatch, which btw I DO NOT have.
I patiently point out that they've got the wrong end of the stick, my flat is different to what they are imagining...
Of course I am not allowed to speak to anyone directly. No names or extention numbers can be given out at any costs...the meter square patch up with have to do....I end up in tears, 'cos now the stress in getting to me.
I'm told my houising officer will ring me back eventually. I'm not holding my breath.

It's an absolutely disgraceful way to operate...
