Thing is, with xena yeah, what made it excellent was the fact that you KNEW Xena was fucking strong as fuck, humble, down-to-earth, approachable, humane cos of her shit past etc and not to mention, really fucking strong(did i say that already?), whereas these dumb american chicks like Buffy and Charmed, i mean, come off it...blatant stunt women galore with stupid pithy lines and who really gave a flying piece of shit about their life stories...i mean, REALLY. The writers of Buffy should be shot...incoherant, mixed up histories, inconsistancies etc etc...i shant even start on Charmed which is even more shit! :facepalm:

It's like giving the twins from Sweet Valley High ''superpowers''. Fuck off, right now!

Are you saying Xena was more realistic than Buffy and Charmed? :eek: I'd quite like to visit the world in which Xena is realistic, as long as I can be more like Xena than Gabrielle.

not necessarily more realistic, but fuck man, i wanna believe in a heroine that's pretty fucking strong IRL! :o xena fits the bill and ticks ALL my boxes im afraid. What's more, she aint a stick-thin air-head!

Only...it wasn't. SMG was an Olympian-level kickboxer, which is how she got the gig in the first place. The rest of your post is pish - one of the reasons Buffy is so impressive is because it was the one of the first long-series shows to maintain a high level of consistency throughout the whole show (and into it's spin-off comics).

SMG apparently was very fit and very good at martial arts. Not hugely strong, because she was small, but no weakling either. Somehow I suspect that Xena had a stunt double for some of the more imaginative fight scenes too.

I thought one of the appeals of Xena was just how unrealistic it was.

Course, now I know which of my friends to introduce you to should you ever decide to play for the other team. :D
 
As I recall Hercules and Xena boned back when she was Evil Xena. So she clearly bats for both sides. Plus Gabrielle carries that quarterstaff :hmm:

i can see how my love for Xena can somehow bias and blinker me, yes, but nah i dont want some kind of petite 'good for the men, good for the girls' dinky and lady-like heroine, i want a fuck-off strong, hefty, take no-shit broad to kick some ass and let me see those gorgeous THIGHS while you're doing it.

Calisto is all about the eyes though...when she gets that 'gone' look in her eyes and the crazy grin, you know she's gonna fuck who ever it is she's up against up...well, 'cept Xena. :cool:
