One last thing in PP. I have had more than enough from my military service but if yor anyone with you would like to shoot a wide range of weaponry, including RPGs, you can tell any tuktuk guy yo take you out to the shooting range on Russian Blvd, past the Air Port. It is a Cambodian Military Base that lets foreigners fire anything in the armory, for cash of course. No longer cheap (my wife made me take her, sadly, she has long been curious as if she not seen enough guns in her life). You can even get an RPG, 2 shells, and a cow for target practice. I have seen locals taking the cow with them so I suppose is that is your thing, you could get some fresh beef out of it to boot.
I also want to list one more thing to do near Bangkok. There is a Wat, Buddhist shrine, dedicated to treating HIV/AIDs cases and as most know the region is innundated with the disease and very people will ever hear the word Protease Inhibitor let alone be offered them to take.
It is quite sad, you walk in and see all these suffering people. Then in the halls they have medical exhibits, ranging from babies with AIDs all the way up to the extreme elderly, all pickled and floating in giant jars. Pretty bizarre really but I found that it accomplished (with me and wifey anyway) what it hoped to do. It shocks and then saddens on so deeply and makes them really take stock of their lives. I have never seen a person not weffected coming out (although I have only visited it 2 times).
If anyone wants the particulars, it is online I am sure and if not I will have my mother in law gid it out at my other home , which is where my trip journal is.
For me, that might be the only way of reccomending something to see around the general BK area, since the city is becoming more and more affluent and fastpaced each time I visit. Well that and the new Immigration Laws limiting Visa Renewals.
