To see what the people want. That's what referendums are for. And then we accept the outcome and don't badmouth the electorate who I'd guess, would vote overwhelmingly in favour of the royals.

When I've told people that I think the monarchy is pointless and I'd never bow to any royal, I've been met with disbelief and in some cases, downright hostility.

I'd be happy for them to be ousted but I feel that the majority of people would be up in arms over it. The best thing I can say about them is that they're good for tourism.

There are many historic buildings that manage to break even/pay for renovation even though they're not massive tourist hot spots right in the middle of the fucking capital.
