Broken Metatarsals - Why aren't they protected by their boots?

Danny Murphy was on R5 at 19:15 yesterday 2nd May, he said "talking to players I know, it's not the boots that cause the problems, it's the harder pitches. They are all better drained, stay firmer through the season. Although this keeps the football better, with better bounce and control, it is a lot harder on players feet and is not so forgiving when you go down in tackles"

A very intelligent sounding player and good to listen to.

I like Murphy but he doesn't really get a chance at Spurs because we've got Carrick and Jenas ahead of him and Huddlestone waiting in the wings.

It is all a bit dodgy that the first game he wears them, he gets injured, and now Nike have turned round and stated that the boots won't change as they accept no liability!

I accept Murphy's proviso, but note with interest Johnston's point too. (See above link) Who is right? I suppose we'll see when Rooney gets to play again. Will he use his original ones or the new ones??

Might be a good idea to take him for the final btw, Rooney coming on in the second half to destroy the Brazilian defence in his return match, mmmm a dream finish :)

I just picked a country out of the air to be honest because Nike are well catalogued as the worst offenders in this field and hence the mass boycotts.

Ah, that good old 20 year out of date chestnut
