bluestreak said:
you missed em last time cos you couldn't be arsed. don't come jumping on the BFB in leytonstone bandwagon now sunshine ;)
yeah. :p

can i though? i'm nice.

btw, ldr et al i may have to call on you.. leyton/stone scares me.

What time to people advise arriving??

We'll be having at least one in the Wetherspoons (to met our proper beer needs  ) before heading facross the road into the Sheep Walk (unless anyone can tell me they do proper beer after all?). So we may get there quite early anyway :)

LDR -- I take it there are nightbuses that go to Bank or Liverpool Street, from Leytonstone High Road? ;)

I'd get there fucking early. The place gets packed at the best of times.

Can't remember about the beer.

I'd be quite up for this, providing I actually get some homework done during the day. It was top last time :)

I'll be going on me own though :( so be good to know when peeps are getting there.

Oh, and providing its not too difficult to get back to civilisation?!?! Can anyone confirm? I remember it being really really difficult last time. However I'm also pretty sure I was incredibly drunk which would make it more difficult that needs to be :D

Not sure when we are getting there, but I'll let you know when I do. It's not hard to get back to the real world, central line is 5 mins from the pub & that takes 20 mins or so to get to central london.

Was thinking of getting there for 8 - will that be ok do you reckon, Hollis? Didn;t come last time so have no clue.

Read a review of them in the Grauniad yesterday. Five stars indeed. May pop along, although I hear they're also playing at the Windmill at the end of January.

I wouldn't leave much later than that but that time should be fine.

I assume so but I'm the wrong person to ask. I rarely use buses TBH.

Yes, the number 8 goes from 2 metres from the pub straight through liv st and bank to TCR.

Not quite sure what we're doing prior to arriving at the Sheepwalk, but if you fancy I can PM my number & perhaps we can arrange something on the day?

Tbh, I reckon you'll be fine walking straight from L'stone tube to the pub. It's barely a 5 min walk & I've never encountered any trouble in that area myself. :)

fraid that's totally sold out

they tend to play venues too small for them!!!

PM sent but just noticed your tag-line so hope you read it in time for tomorrow!

N8 presumably, but thanks for that mc ;)

Yep N8 it is. It's worth knowing you can also catch that bus just around the corner from ours too. ;)

Balls! Looks like Leytonstone then.

check their site for other shows in Feb/March and I'd advise getting tickets

if they went pro on this (at least three of them have jobs and a couple of them have unbroken families) they'd be filling the Astoria and i think the new album will get amazing press

Amazingly, I seem to be the first to report back that they were fantastic!!!

Really long set with loads of encores, all the classic songs, great performance, they worked really hard.

A good bit was when that random rapper (APPARANTLY unknown to the band and they to him, but someone may have been bullshitting me on that ;) ) got up and gave it out really inspired on the mic ...

I was very lucky to get in at all, the Central Line shut down eastwards of Bank at just the wrong time (around 8 o clock) and I had to get a taxi to Leytonstone

Then I was the last but two or three allowed upstairs before they closed it off for being too full ...

Great atmosphere in there though, that will probably be the last time we ever see the BFB in such a small environment (I know they're playing the Windmill, but that's sold out).

Only slight moan was lack of good beer, but the Guinness was OK and the logistics of getting it from downstairs to up meant I didn't drink too much of it.

Cheers for the the hospitality later, LDR and ngeru ... great party!

Night buses home were no problem, I was home in just under an hour

Hehe well I only just got up! But yeah agreed, best night so far this year.

^^^^
Yep.... & the best BFB gig I've been to, ever! :D

i wouldn't be so sure about that as they have a contrary view about the machinations of the live music industry and like doing stupid little gigs

a date has yet to be set but they're playing (and curating) Acid Country #7 at the Windmill in July

That was a great show. They're playing at Cargo in April so I might try and round up a few friends to go and see that. Can't see the venue being as good as the Sheep dip though. And Dub, don't treat the singer as an object. He's a human being too, you know. :p
