Brokeback Mountain on film4 13th sept

I thought BB Mountain was rubbish: really slow and boring, and I couldn't relate to the main characters who were pretty stupid.

Loved Blue Velvet though.
I was with someone who wanted to walk out of the cinema before it finished and that pissed me off big time as i loved it.

Each to their own but anyone who isn't moved by this film is clinically dead imo :)

I have to say I found the film very slow and rather tedious, though I'm fully aware I'm in the minority there.

Frankly, I don't understand the moral outrage BBM inspired. You'd think your average homophobe would love this picture-- the gay characters in it either die, get fired from their jobs, or get beat up; all the while, living sad, unfulfilled lives.

I was surprised the bumsex kicked off as early as it did. I was expecting a kind of Brideshead Revisited slow, torturous build up but these two were absolutely cock mental!

Great film. Powerful performances and all that.

its about love not sex, they arent the same thing  :D

i cant believe how much this film makes me cry, my heart actually aches when i watch it. :o

Can't believe the fuss about this film, I missed it the first time round and was so looking forward to seeing this amazing film as advertized by OP. I managed to struggle trough 1/2 hour of this tedious film before turning over, it was so utterly boring and my sister-in-law agreed! (rare for us to agree on anything!) I suspect this was one film everyone was afraid to criticize because of its 'Gay-Film' tag, a case of the "Emperor's New Clothes", fear of being called Homophobic or seeming to be "uncool" Ah, well.

Don't be silly. There's any number of "gay" films which I'll be happy to say are shit.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert, In and Out, Mrs Doubtfire, Another Gay Movie...the list goes on and on and they're all pap and all gritty and realistic and shit portrayals of gay life.

Mrs Doubtfire?

how the heck is that a 'gay' movie?

I was kinda selecting a deliberately non-representative selection of films for comedic purposes there, champ.

Point is that there is no taboo against saying a "gay" film is shit, likewise any other minority group in society. A shit film is a shit film, a good one is a good one. That's all there is to it and BBM is a very, very good film.

I loved it, I cried and cried, and then I went and got my ex's clothes out of the drawer (not sent them back yet) and slept with them all last night.
Also, Heath Ledger is fit.
