Broadband providers - any recommendations?

More expensive fappage with Zen. They're very professional, but they charge more than everyone else for reassuring northern toned service.

Be don't do our manor. wtf? Really surprised at this? Central London an all...

Zen say speeds of 1something or other....

But they think they can sort something out. Ran a speed test on the current mobile broadband and it's 340 something or other...

So about 10% of what was advertised.

Is anyone able to recommend Tiscali? Their deal looks OK for broadband - 8mb d/l speed, unlimited free router, free set-up for £14.99 pm.

I can't figure out why the bb + telephone package is cheaper?

don't under ANY circumstances use Tiscali - they have a terrible reputation.

I have friends who have almost pulled all their hair out because of Tiscali.

I was with Zen - very good - 100% reliable, highly recommended. But, I'm trying to save £, so have changed to O2. For £15 a month I can get up to 20mbps, same infrastructure as Be, but cheaper cos I'm already an 02 customer.

I'd defintely say Zen or Be - or if you're with 02 already (ie. your mobile), then go 02.

Last two days the dns servers have been up the creek. There is a message about it on their forums, so we can only wait .

My experience of Zen was very good. I changed to Co-op because i was changing everything i could to Co-op. They have been great except for the way they introduced their price rises and download cap last year. That pissed me off so much, though, that I've been looking round for something else.

I'm at the moment leaning to the Post Office - their current offering is broadband up to 8Mbps (higher than wot i got now) plus line rental plus included calls plus wireless router plus 'unlimited web surfing' plus 50MB web space for a gnat's testicle under £25 a month.

Anyone any experience of Post Office BB, or idea how that compares?

I signed up online with Be yesterday, after Griffin started acting as though bandwidth was some sort of finite resource and throttled my connection to fuck during business hours.

I used this discount code and got the £24 connection fee waived: MVCBE (valid till the end of November).

Can you use your own router? I just can't be arsed to configure another router if I can help it :o
