Brixton's Bowie mural covered up by advertising

I love popcorn. Just not to eat.

And if you really want popcorn you get it from the ever changing cast of young men in the reliance arcade and take it into the ritzy yourself. You don't buy it anywhere posh.
£1 a bag. Cooked like 30 seconds ago.

I love salty popcorn but the sweet makes me projectile vomit. As the Reliance guys have a sweet and savory on the go, once in a blue moon you get a sweet one in the savoury bag. Perilous times. But I don't give a fuck, me. It's just how I roll.

There is a vast hopper of packs of assorted popcorn installed now. I assume it will be distributed to the good burghers of Brixton during the afternoon.

I'm sure I've seen these somewhere, so they must be stocked in a local pub. Not sure which though.

Wouldn't touch them myself as they lack pork fat and hair; prerequisites of acceptable beer snacks.

On this day, in 1983, ‪‎DavidBowie‬ played a special one-off charity gig for Brixton

corrected for you :p

I asked their PR what was the nature of the "free community events" that they were laying on to supposedly compensate for plastering their advertising all over a mural.

They answered:
Propercorn will be offering a series of events inclusive of free Propercornsampling, nail painting, screen printing as well complimentary food and drink
I responded:
I am curious how you're describing some of your forthcoming activities as community" ones - surely handing out free samples and drinks from a no-doubt heavily branded stall is just promotional activities? What is community based about giving away free samples? That's just standard marketing practice.
They didn't respond.

They were giving out free bags of popcorn there on Saturday afternoon, but I got a feeling it was backfiring because there are several different flavours available and almost everyone in the queue seemed to end up getting a flavour they DID NOT WANT and then having to hang about to swap it back with some other unhappy punter. Lots of mutinous commenting from the people lining up to wait. I boycotted them
