Wot no Urbanites in Dickensian garb clutching tankards of mulled Stella? :)

Edited to add:Great pictures by the way...

Blimey - it's just started snowing in Darzet  This wasn't in the script!

A huge flash of lightning, rumble of thunder, five mins of heavy hail, and then 15 mins of big-flaked snow, leaving about half an inch on the car rooves. Let the chaos ensue :D

Just cycled home in the snow. Was gonna catch the DLR but as I'd never done it before, thought fuck it I fancy a bit of danger.

Daft thing to do on a road bike I suppose, those tyres were slipping all over the place. Wheel spinning away from stopped and nutty going way too fast drivers covering me in black shit. You cant go round corner like you would normally either, the bike just goes away from you, but even with 22mm tyres, not as bad as I would have thought. Felt safer than walking in it.

I emerged from an afternoon of photography in the basement (god that sounds like dodgy porn shots or summat  ) to find it snowing quite heavily. Northern line wasn't stopping at Kings X due to overcrowding, and the traffic on the Barking Road has ground to a halt. I expect all the shops will have run out of tinned goods by morning

the 121 Bus in Enfield is Not going to Enfield Isalnd village, as the bridge over the river lea is too icy. Cars can`t get over it. Its like the Everybody Hurts video by REM. People are just abandoning their cars last time I looked!

:D

Baled out and thought the 1717 slow from Blackfriars in the swirling snow would be safe - Thameslink excelled of course and the f+++ing train packed up at Farringdon - mad scramble a la last train out of Paris before the Germans moved in ensued and got on the second train - which then went slow taking an hour in crush loaded conditions through the snow.
God I hate public transport like this - but it did the job and home in 5 inches of freezing cold and icy stuff.Expect shambles tommorrow.Snow great to look at but not to travel in !

I was on the Tottenham Court Road at about 17:15 today and was eyeing up a 15gig Ipod. Wanted to do a bit more window shopping when the snow same dwon realy heavily :D .

Then all of a sudden, a flash of lightening and then .... thunder!!! Wopppeeee.. :D :p

Me, my mate and his wife got some heavy duty plastic sheeting and went sledging over the park. Haven't done that in years. Soaked to the fucking skin though.

Careful on the roads tomorrow peeps, I just went out for a late night snowball fight with the kid and all the snow has turned into sheet ice now. It's going to be hell trying to get anywhere tomorrow morning. Don't even think about bikes! Place is like an ice rink.

i've just seen a convoy of salt trucks... totally bizare (oh where is the camera when you need it...) but now i know that salt is transported in council trucks similar to the ones used for removing commercial rubbish (you know, the ones that are open topped with high metal sides...)

its true when they say you learn something every day... ;)

Have just imbibed four huge glasses of white wine (& I mean huge) in the hope of an icy blizzard preventing me from going to work tomorrow.

Looks like it will be sunny & cold, no icy blizzards. Bleeeeeeugh.

No, we were all inside in the warm of course, though Anna Key looks pretty Dickensian. :D :D Mulled Stella? Eww!

The libray is really pretty, perfect for an Xmas card.

Also love the bench with the dash of blue in the top left and the "car vac" one. The last is a prizewinner I'd say.

Someone lives in Brixton Hill Court (or there abouts) don't they T? :)
