Brixton Market Butchers

Sometimes, it's worth paying a little extra for quality.

The bacon at Borough Market is expensive, but it beats supermarket bacon hands down a hundred times over. I'd rather have that once a month than supermarket bacon every weekend.

What do you eat the rest of the time?
A few rashers of bacon a month aint my style guy, no way like

I eat allsorts - just not bacon at every meal.

I'd quite happily eat a good fry-up or bacon sarnie regularly but i'm trying not to put on any more weight.

I think the butcher near Franco Manca is meant to be OK (Dombeys), and the aforementioned Colombian one is good, as well as the Portuguese butcher on Altantic Road, but to be honest I'd head to Walters in Herne Hill, or better, Scotch Meat on Rosendale Road. :)

I don't know if it is just me, but sometimes I find going around Brixton Market a little intimidating. Although the people on the stalls are nice enough, there seem to be quite a few dodgy people hanging around, and some shouting very loudly. But I guess that's just Brixton for you!

After reading this thread, I went to MM on Friday fully intending to sample their wares. I'm sure they have nice enough stuff if you tell them what you want, but nothing on show was in any way appealing, so I decided to pass.
