Brixton Mail

I got home to a little red note through the letter box asking me to go and pick something up from the sorting office, because it wouldn't fit through my letterbox.

I picked it up this morning... it was a CD in a jiffy bag.

... and it wouldn't fit how?

The postie just couldn't be arsed to carry it. Much easier to carry a little red card telling lies and stick it through the box than to weigh him down

I'm a bit pissed off.. I had some photo cards made up and they were despatched a week ago and haven't arrived. They're my (bicycle) wedding invites... :(

ETA... sorry Royal Mail... I just found one of those red cards...:o

On the upside - I just got a letter from DHL dropping all their import charges and threatened court case against me.... :D I'm considering framing it and hanging it in the loo. :)

Update - Royal Mail emailed me rather speedily to firstly, tell me they were investigating and then secondly to admit that there was a problem at the delivery office, that it had been identified (to do with access problems to properties apparently) and finally that they were taking steps to address it.
The result has been a marked improvement in deliveries, long may it continue.

so EXACTLY which office is dealing with your mail?

Blenheim Gardens - I was a bit dubious of their explanation, lack of gate keys as we don't have a lock but plenty do so its plausible. If you have a high turnover of staff and lose that local knowledge then you are going to have problems. I sent Royal Mail customer services an email and it got investigated and concluded in about 72 hours with a name to contact for future issues.

Lack of gate keys? Whose keys are you talking about?

Are you in when your postie comes? If you are, have a word with him, he's the one who will most likely have an idea whats going on.

In an attempt to prevent druggies and prostitutes using our gardens for their purposes, a lot of addresses now have gate locks to prevent access.
