Brixton Bus Stops A-Changing

I still remember when they removed the 322 and 2 from the stop outside the police station thus preventing catching the first Crystal Palace bus when the 3 was doing it's usual shit. (yes this was a while ago when the 2 went up the hill). The fact there is now nowhere to stand to easy get the 3 or 322 still annoys me.

But why doesn't the number 3 go from the same stop as the 196 - the only 2 buses to herne hill?

Why does it share a stop with buses to clapham that don't share any of the same route?

It's a historic anachronism I think. The 2,2A and 2B were for years the only buses between Brixton and Tulse Hill so it made sense for them to go from the same stop. One route went via Herne Hill and was replaced by the 196 but they never moved the stop to share with the 3 as would be logical.

Were it to change I'd miss the now extended dash with shopping through the Brixton crowds from Iceland to catch a 196!

Its madness... Last night loads of buses heading up the hill were blocking the road as they couldn't pull into the stop. The Iceland delivery truck was parked outside Boots as usual and passengers were having to squeeze along the roadside of the truck to get onto buses

Been meaning to say - Stockwell has also had a bus stop re-alignment.

The 345 southbound (towards Clapham) now stops more or less opposite Stockwell tube station entrance instead of fifty yards down the road.

I recommend CityMapper app. Add the relevant buses /stops to your favourites then you can see which one is coming first.
