Hello all. Not posted here for a long time and was an infrequent poster anyway so most likely not remembered. Anyway, I'll be staying in Brixton next week for a few days with my partner and child of 7 years. Anything that you could recommend we do? Already plan to go to the market on the Saturday and bear in mind we are from rural Scotland so anything is probably exciting for us! Got a few things sorted for visits in the city but looking for some local stuff to do.

    quimcunx Too tall.

Brockwell park has excellent views, a very good play park. Outdoor swimming if you're brave enough. Cafe for hot chocolate or ice cream.

Black cultural archives, perhaps not very exciting for a 7 year old but ok for half hour education.

A bit beyond Brixton, but easily reachable, is the Hornimann museum. Loads of natural history type exhibits, musical instruments in glass cases, beautiful gardens, workshops and interactive events, open farm. All that’s free admission and then there is usually a very child friendly exhibition which you can choose to pay in if you want.

Not sure exactly when you will be here but Brixton windmill will be open 13th and 14th October this weekend. I've seen it. Its been lovingly restored by volunteers. Well worth a visit

That does look good, unfortunately we’re not there until the 18th.
