Britney Spears at the Dome

As suggested in the review I posted, it would be pretty amazing if she wasn't miming, bearing in mind how much dancing she was doing.

But this is the wrong way around, surely; you dance as much as it doesn't interfere . . . Too much dancing as an excuse not to sing at your own gig?

fucks sake, its not the opera, its Britney Spears. Horses for courses. you dont expect her to sing 'Milk & Alcohol' do you? So why do you expect her to do anything but be a performing monkey? That's what she is, thats what people pay to go and see.

i doubt it, i think they know precisely what they are going to get, and get it. Which is why there is no furore about miming

For reasons I still don't fully understand I have ended up with free tickets to see Britney on Sunday. This is quite exciting

Does she mime? Does she dance? Will there be glitter? What shall I wear? What's the best transport route from Brixton to the O2?

So many questions

So, is she miming? Are we sure about that?

I can 100% confirm she's miming for the vast majority of the show.

It's pretty much impossible to sing and do the dance routines she does at the same time.

For the same reason anyone expecting much singing from Jacko next year is gonna be mightily disappointed.

Another night, another totally different gig.

Britney does mime pretty much all the way through and barely interacts with the crowd, but boy, does she put a show on!

I was v, v impressed. Lots of her prancing around in next to nothing, lots of ripped boys in next to nothing, hit after hit after hit after hit. I thought it was facking amazing.

Totally cheered me up after another fairly lame day, this time with an added groping on the tube there

glad you enjoyed the concert pootle..

ive never been too into chart pop music myself.. i can understand the appeal of it for gay club dancing or exercising to or whatever and i like the upbeat feel of this kinda stuff occasionally.

cant get why ppl shell out BIG BUX to see britney if she doesnt sing during the performance:confused: esp if you dont have good seats, isnt it a bit like watching a video of her from a great distance? im NOT trying to piss on anyones cornflakes by the way, if you dug the concert....just curious about the UNDERLYING reasons people seem to love her which have little to do with the music.

im guessing madonna, girls aloud and many other acts etc DO sing live..IMHO britney gets way with this cos its more about the sad dramas/craziness of her life for many of her fans..these tragic aspects seem to strike a cord with many gay men esp. which i dont get..:confused:the whole diva who is living a sad/lonely life with everyone out to exploit her..this kinda template goes back to garland, identifying with suffering etc :(

im guessing MJ could get away with not singing either cos again its more about the "freakshow" of his life than his talents.

Britney does have a tune called "Freakshow"

And yeah, I can vouch that Girls Aloud and Madonna DO sing live and also put on an amazing show. I don't think many of the fans at the 02 were relating to her quite frankly tragic at times life, as most of them looked like your average girl at Topshop or teenage girls.

It wasn't like watching a video cos there was so much to look at - fire shows, amazing aerial acrobatics, boys on bikes, brilliant dancers and lots of tunes remixed. Tbf, I'm mostly loving her for the music. There are moments I've looked at Britney and shaken my head sadly for the poor little poppet :(

I shared a tube last night with two geordies on their way to the gig, and they were loudly talking about how they were going along to show their support for her, for all the hard times she's been through. Personally, i'd have thought going along to gawp at her onstage wasn't particularly supportive, but what do I know.

Then again, the guy stood next to them mentioned he was from Tennessee, to which they replied "Oh, Britney's from your neck of the woods isn't she?". I though she was from Louisiana...
