Britney Spears at the Dome

So essentially they went to see a young lady dancing badly while pretending to sing? How long was the performance, incidentally?

But she's BRITENY!

Being suprised at Britney miming is like going to a U2 gig and being suprised about Bono preaching.

Essentialy she's like a brand. It doen't matter if she sings or not.

I got the impression most pop acts nowadays sang live, even if just at their own gigs and not on TV shows. Apparently not. Very disappointing if you ask me.

She obviously didn't get where she is through talent (which was obvious from the beginning of her career to be fair) which is frustrating when there are plenty of talented acts out there who are very capable of performing live, but they're stuck in relative anonymity.

if someone has come to fame and made millions for being a singing performer then i think it matters pretty much if they then don't sing at one of their concerts.

yeah exactly theres plenty of pop stars that sing live.

pink and christina aguilera certainly do.

Hell i bet milly cyrus does as well.

Poor showing from britney.

When I saw Kanye West he was singing and it was facking awful.

Anyhoo. I'm off to the O2. I hope you all enjoy your heated debate about a genre/artist most of you (with a few notable exceptions) on this thread (and u75) don't even like anyway :p

what about if they're a performer who sings and dances, and, like, stuff?

would you go and see britney anyway? and if not, then who cares? most of the fans comments i've seen have expressed little disappointment at her lack of singing. given her rather weak voice, i imagine more would have been disappointed had she actually sung

I don't think I'd pay that much to see her now, her heart doesn't really seem to be in it these days. I do care about lip syncing, but I do realise that she does some well hardcore dance routines and see it as more of a 'show' than a concert.

She is actually a brilliant dancer.

so how was it, pootle?

I don't know. The 02 was, well, the o2. I had a very nice pint of beer and my other mates who went said Britney was brilliant.

The person who booked our tickets made a bit of a balls up and booked them for NEXT thursday. A fact we didn't discover until we tried to get in :o
