Its been a nudge nudge story for a while amongst Cyclists. It is kind of shocking but Millar has gone to ground and totally broken all ties with everyone and lives in remotetest Spain. She was obviously a troubled charachter for a number of years and a very private person. I hope she gets the space and respect to enjoy her new life.
Nope, there are rules governing dimensions of the frames and wheels but beyond that its a free for all. Some of the British Cycling stock bikes ridden by Hoy and Wiggins cost fuckloads, 100K+.
BTW - Mark Cavendish won the 2nd stage of 3 days of De Panne today - apparently he was in 20th place with 400M to go and won by 10 bike lengths.

Yeah, I saw Boardman do a chat with the Beeb about the bike technology because he's been quite involved in it. He did say that including research and development each would cost about £100,000, but then that's about 5 days wages for an England footballer and look at their success, so I think we can say it's money well spent.

best athlete without a shadow of a doubt. unlike F1 the pilot is also the engine, on the track the machine's are so simple that it's even more about the athlete than choice of gear.
