Brian Lenihan is in the shit

nino_savatte

No pasaran!
Ireland's Finance minister, Brian Lenihan has pumped €7bn into the country's banks but is facing questions about his competence. Apparently he forgot to inform the Taoiseach, Brian Cowen of a huge secret deposit to AIB (Anglo-Irish Bank)...oops, must have slipped his memory - eh? He also didn't read a report that he commissioned into the health of the nation's banks...er, why?

This follows last year's revelation that Cowen didn't read the Lisbon Treaty.

No one has offered to resign.

Fianna Fail...what a shower of shite.

that levy on public sector pensions and cuts to child benefits for young children is a total disgrace.

My sister is a teacher and shes going to be affected by this levy on pensions, she told me that the mood among her fellow teachers is one of anger,I wonder if our ex-Teashock Bertie Ahern's $160,000 a yr pension is going to be affected :hmm:,still he's still got his TDs $100,000 a year wage to tied him over:mad:

This oncologist (in common with many doctors, I might add) has nothing nice to say about the current FF-led coalition and their attitude to public services.

Minister John Gormley stated piously that he hoped to see white collar miscreants in handcuffs, doing the perp(etrator) walk. This is consistent with his principled pre-election stance, eloquently articulated in one of the wittiest modern Irish political speeches, in which he coined the term "Planet Bertie" to describe the strange unregulated world where Fianna Fail and those sections of the business community who stood to gain the most from lack of oversight lived cheek by jowl. Why, then, did he help to put the Emperor of that planet back in power? Oversight?

What I don't understand is how The Greens can allow bus services to be scrapped?

For the same reasons they allowed the building of a giant incinerator in a residential area, the activities of Shell in Corrib and the building a giant motorway through Tara. The Green Party have no principles whatsoever.

I've always been rather suspicious of a Green Party that gets into bed with FF. As far as 'green' credentials are concerned, they have none.

There won't have to be another one until 2011/2012. Hopefully, something will happen soon to trigger an early election though.

Large sections of the elite (the idiot wing) are bleating and yammering about a 'national government', which apparently would involve two parties that have hated each other since the butchery of the civil war somehow delivering stable, workable government. Good luck with that one, lads.

FF and FG in a national government? Unlikely, as you say as they were at each other's throats during the civil war. I can't see a motion of censure coming any time in the near future either. :(
