Sorry, he's in Toronto, maybe he's on some sort of a tour right now though. I found out through Harborfront Centre's website (where he's reading), not his website, you should look there.
As for Glamorama, a friend of mine has so it I was going to read it, but I didn't have time because she moved away to Montreal this summer for university. Oh well.
read most of his, less than zero, when it came out, he's about the same age as me, so i hated him naturally, as he had produced a cool 80s novel, and i hadn't (or even tried to ) read all of them up to glamorama which i did give up on, it's somewhere in the books i mean to go back to when i eventually get around it to it and stop buying other books...pile
I'd like to see the film re-made cos the original one with Jamie Gertz in is shite, all very anti-drugs preachy, brunettes instead of blondes...all very poor.
B.E.E has always been under-rated. Less Than Zero was an okay debut, but there's been a steady improvement in every work since. How many authors can say that?
Glamorama is his best work - playful, complex and utterly odd. I think his new one is called Lunar Park. It's already out in the States, but has yet to be released here.
Haven't seen Less Than Zero, but I enjoyed Rules Of Attraction. A very camera-tricksy, MTV-heavy film, but isn't that the way it should be? The music was good and it was shallow and stylish. And Shannon Sossamon looked very foxy in it.
