Breaking news: Arnesen suspended in Chelsea link

This just adds to the negative perception that everyone has about Chelsea. If I was a Chelsea fan (you know, horrible Home County cunt, knows fuck all about football, wardrobe full of Burberry, British Bulldog tatoo) I would want to know where this arrogant misbehaviour is coming from - it can't be just Mourinho.

Someone made a good point to me the other day - how must prospective transfer targets view Chelsea? They have no history, no trophy cabinet, no class, no ethics, no reason to believe they are here to stay as a force, no popularity outside the Home C(o)unties, shite fans, but loads of money. Why would todays superstars want to go and play there? Answer - they don't. The only players Chelsea will attract are money grabbing mercenaries. Henry, Gerrard, Adriano etc have all turned them down because they are just not an attractive proposition for the top players who want to win things honourably. These players would much rather play for Arsenal, United, Milan and even Liverpool, who have more history, ethics, and a greater potential for the future than Chelsea.

The only way Chelsea can ever have as much appeal as these clubs with a great footballing pedigree is to be successful, with dignity, for many years. Unfortunately, for them, you can't buy that, and furthermore as soon as the Kremlin catch up with Abramovich, Chelsea will be fucked.

Did you get food poisoning in Turkey and still have that dangerously high temperature that causes incoherent rambling?

The some one making a good point to you is probably your social worker trying to humour a client with the worst symptons of dementia that they have ever seen.

Chlesea only attract the keeper voted best in Europe after the Euro Championships, the PFA Player of the Year, the Sports writers Player of the year, the best player of the Champions League 2003 , four of this years Premiere League Team of the season.

Mercenaries? .

Liverpool and loyalty wouldn't rank on any name association quiz games with the one season exception of Gerrard. Even in Liverpool , the number of people sitting on the bench collecting money for doing nothing due to Houiliers addiction to buying anything that took a passing fancy causes concern about wasting time and money.

But there again for a club with so much dignity ie selling itself to the Thai govt,El-Hadji Diouf's spitting, Grobbelars bribes, the Liverpool Acadamy land grab in Kirkby, the tapping up off Ziegge and Kewell (more fool you) there is no doubt a queue forming from the international elite to join the team the celebs supported when they were famous. What was the name of that Spainish player you got in exchange for Michael Owen?

Ah but there is a marked difference between Chelsea behaviour and the behaviour of the other clubs in the Premiership, Man Utd under Glazier a case not yet brought.

They may all rock the boat occasionally, but it's madmen like Chelsea that try and sink the fucking thing.

you lost the argument - two major times on here it has been done and we won - basically we just don't claim what you think we claim

Spurs fans should just avoid the 'b' word.

If they claim that they have a low ratio of turnover/sucess then they'd be correct. Although not half as screwed as Newcastle FC.

Though in defence of both teams, they do have to fight it out against 4-5 even richer clubs on the domestic front.

I was generalising about Spurs fans, not just talking about what you said. So don't misquote me
I'm sorry if it appeared that way but the fact that your comment came directly after I proclaimed us to be a big club suggested to me that your comment was aimed at me specifically. If this wasn't the case I apologise.

Let's get back to real issue...

Should Spurs take the Hush money or pursue them?

It's obscene - whenever you try to do something good Chelsea can just demolish it... Arnesen was on £600,000 per year - Levy offered him £1.2M to stay but he'd already agreed a £2.5M deal with Chelsea to do a less demanding job...

Futhermore Chelsea recently nicked our ex-olympic team physio Kenneally - he was part of a sucessful revamp of the medical staff... They're putting a stranglehold on everyone...

Plenty reports this morning say Spurs are considering swapping Arnesen for Scott Parker.

Just what Spurs need, another midfielder!

What I'm finding difficult to comrehend is why Spurs are reluctant to make an official complaint to the FA about this. There's been a lot of talk that they don't want 'bad blood' with Chelsea. Why? Is it because they've seen what a mess Arsenal have been left in? Maybe there's some stuff Spurs don't want aired in an FA hearing?

Time for them to be a bit more discreet, I think. They'll end up having points docked before long.
Yea, seems like they've tapped up a few players in one go and now they're getting nicked for each one :D

Parker is supposed to be off to Everton but Newcastle are also involved.

Have Spurs actually got a case?

Dunno.

From what I understand, Spurs are riled because Chelsea sent a copy of the letter requesting making an approach, to Arnesen himself. This removed the possibility of Spurs telling them to sling it without Arnesen being any the wiser.

The question is whether Chelsea deliberately ccd Arnesen in. If Chelsea deny this, which no doubt they will, it would be impossible to prove otherwise.

Spurs do have a lot of midfielders but we don't really have a goal-scoring Lampard-Gerrard-Scholes type one to partner Carrick as he sits back and spreads the play. Is Parker the type to fill this role?

If Spurs take a pay off they should take a 3 point deduction

Letting Chelsea get away with this to get a player on the league is pathetic and will only make Spurs more derided than they all ready are.

If an open 'bribe' because thats what Chelsea are offering, a bribe, is taken then everyone should come crashing down on Spurs like a ton of cheap but heavy bricks

surely the important bit is that he was copied in? not that they did or didn't mean to?

tommers, I completely agree. But Chelsea can use an 'ooops, genuine mistake, guvnor, honest' excuse, and the FA will be impotent.

For a fucking change.

Allegedly Parker wants £45,000 a week to come to Goodison so he wont be coming here, he'll be off to one of the banjo clubs where he can join other highly-paid mediocrities.

Its sad though that Spurs bitched and yet have not reported Chelsea to the FA or the PL... at least Arsenal took a stand, and allowing Chelsea to buy their silence with Kezman and / or Parker will just make matters worse.

No. Parker is good box to box player with stamina and courage. He does have a shot on him but he isn't going to get you more than a handful of goals. However he could still develop into the player that Chelsea repeatedly went to Charlton for under Raneiri. I quite liked him but I think we are looking for players at the next level now.

PS Any tea ladies looking for a better club? ;)

Chelsea copied that letter to Arnesen which sounds innocuous enough - although technically illegal

But when Levy met with Arnesen, after refusing all approaches for him, he found out that he'd already worked out a deal with them.

When Chelsea said they did nothing wrong, Spurs rebutted with the letter because it's an incontravertable fact... They weren't going to come straight out with the main accusations of tapping up - though this is clearly what happened.

So when the FA speak of breathtaking arrogance on Chelsea's part they refer to this...

But should we fight them all the way? I can't see as though it would be as damaging as it was for Arsenal but to rile Chelsea up is not wise because now they have a Man who knows all the players, their contract details, the Clubs transfer targets, plans and staff... we're massively compromised in that respect

Its' sad that everyone is going to end up running scared of upsetting Chelsea for fear of recrimination in the transfer market

Hopefully, Chelski will manage to alienate and piss off every club in the Premiership, every G-14 club and every bugger else and get fucked by UEFA, FIFA, THE AA, THE RAC, BT, RSC and anyone else who fancies it

Jumped up top 7 club with money anyway

Who the fuck are Chelsea anyway? They won the league, once in fifty years - even Blackburn have done that.

No self respecting footballer would go and play for that shower in front of that shower.

Oh and Chuck, half of those 'players that Houllier wasted his money on' have now got European Cup Winners medals. Cheers.

As a spurs fan I think its been gone about the wrong way but I also agree with a quote I saw yesterday "no one from Spurs moaned or shouted when we blatently nicked Hoddle from Southampton"

I know its different with Arnesen, and it was Hoddle (very odd man) but what goes around comes around.

Interesting reading that "richest clubs" thing:

1 (1) Man Utd £171.5m - owned by a wanker and saddled with debt.
2 (4) Real Madrid £156.3m - run by a twat and saddled with debt.
3 (3) AC Milan £147.2m - owned and run by a crook and in debt
4 (10) Chelsea £143.7m - see AC.

I don't see how Spurs can stop Arnesen TBH - he doesn't want to stay and Chelsea have convinced him there's a role for him. Why should they care about fines they'll pay them off and run roughshod over everyone else.

Mmm...has a point about the players - Ranieri convinced soem of them to go as a rebuilding exercise, but now, they're just buying players who are looking for a way out of a team, and I guess to weaken other teams.

I just hope they sign Khaladze and not Del Horno, so we can nab him!

Mathmatically it is twice in two years. As a Liverpool supporter what would you know about self respect or indeed showers? Your club was being touted to the fucking Thai goverment for christ sakes , who no doubt got tired of an economy based on prostitutes and wanted something more sleazy.

And half those players? Come again ? Westerveld, cheyrou,litman, heskey,anelka,babbel,ziegge,henchoz,diouf,zavier ,diomede,le tallec, diarra,asphexed ???

You do realise that your new manager has actually managed to steer Liverpool into the furthest points diffrence between you and the winners of the premiereship than even Houiller did?

Laughable.The ex celebs club.

I thinkits more to do with £4.5 million quid for him, plain and simple!

In order to illustrate the phrase 'Mmm...has a point' (which is somewhat lost in translation me thinks) can you say who we have bought on that basis?

*appreciates a well phrased insult when he sees one :D

Whilst they will argue "it's one rule for us and another for...." etc, surely the authorities can see that fining Chelsea isn't going to stop them doing these things? So they got hit with £600k fines for Cole-gate; pocket money to them. They need to be hit where it hurts and that's by deducting points. But then you'd have to deduct them about 40 points to stop them getting into the competition they most want to be in due to the stupid system whereby non-champions get into the European Cup. And I always have this horrible idea in my head that if the authorities to punish G14 clubs as they should, they'll just decant and form their own league, destroying 150 years of a beautiful system for a few quid. :(

Then there's my horrible image that Ledley, Jermaine and others might follow Arnesen across town. :(

It seems that Spurs attempt to include Parker and Forsell in a compensation package aren't geeting too far.Forsell looks likely to go to Birmingham now and Parker to Newcastle. There is always Kezman I suppose.

If Mourinho wants Defoe... he's an idiot
If he wants Kanoute... he's a genius

But I reckon he's pretty average overall so they'll get neither

Can't see why Chelsea would want Defoe, he can buy a lot better for less money you'd imagine

Maybe he'd look at King, but not as a first teamer

Deluded sense of ability and class in those appraisals
