Are there actual boat-related reasons why these are called deck shoes? I always kind of thought they were just shoes people bought to match their LaCoste polo shirts.

Frank, they are as comfy as slippers once you get them broken in. They are not good looking but a step above crocs ( I had a pair of size 13 desert storm camo crocs with fleece linings, so I know what I am talking about)
Anyway. Thye are broken in. A dip in the adriatic and about 6 hours of twisting and bending and they are as soft as butter. I could go on a Yacht now and look the business.But I have never been on a yacht.
