Bread maker, another blasted brick.

Hi just though I would revise my old thread as I have found out why I am having bricks from my bread maker.

Answer, It is a cheep one and the oven is too slow getting hot.

After the first rise I took the dough out and put it into tins to rise and then in a proper oven, came out perfectly light and fluffy.

That said the tips on this thread have helped a lot the the bread from the mahine is half decent now

To be quite frank, all a breadmaker can ever really do is to give you a pastiche of real bread.

It's a much better pastiche than supermarket bread or most bread you can easily buy though, and a pretty good time/effort/cost compromise all round imho.
 
The one time I left the yeast out, I found that it was almost tasty while hot, but disgusting once cooled for some reason ....
