Watching Brazil is often like listening to a once great band entering their decline, you want them to be at their best but they rarely are.

I wouldn't go writing them off just yet.

Dull, uninspiring game. Except for the first ten minutes, especially that little bit about 3.30 mins when about five of them played one touch and nearly put the ball into the net. I ended up rooting for Croatia cos they at least looked like they wanted to win it.

That bloke Prso was quality going down the left, his crosses weren't great but he was beating people better than anyone else on the park. Croatia in general were great- tenacious and not at all intimidated by Brazil- and I'm putting them on my list of teams which didn't deserve to lose (a list also featuring Ivory Coast and Paraguay).

Normally I couldn't give a shit about most games, but I caught the second half of this and some highlights from the first.
Ronaldo is a fat joke, and he's failing his reputation. His days are numbered and it looks like he's going to fade out of football history rather than go out with a last spectacular few performances.
Croatia should have won easily, they were definately playing like they wanted to win. Their shooting should have been better, this is the world cup.

why not? not like they weren't under any pressure. croatia had a couple of chances to equalise late on. would have thought that they should have got out of 2nd gear.

they were out of second gear, its just hard to tell sometimes with Brazil as their players have never had especially high workrates.

i thought they were pretty good, if uninspiring. But then i think Croatia deserve a lot of the credit for that, for taking the game to them and keeping them under pressure. Unlucky not to get a point to be fair.

As for Brazil, i said it before last night, but i've got a feeling its got shades of 82 about it. lovely looking team but its just not gonna work. I'd even stick my neck out and say they'll go out to the Czechs or Italy in the next round with a good following wind.

I thought it was a good match, although I'm biased...

It was a bit annoying how Brazil kept shooting at the goal from miles away, rather than trying to get nearer.

But then again it was the first match, they're always difficult games, and Brazil tends to play just well enough to win, because we brazilians are a bit lazy, but we also like to win
