Oh that's been clear for a long time, but the FA's sponsors decree that Beckham must not only play but also assume the mantle of Billy Wright, Terry Butcher, Bryan Robson and the late great Bobby Moore and be captain. Can you think of a less suitable captain? I'd give it to Walcott first, although Gerrard is the obvious choice.
With regard to "-inho" names, I think I remember reading somewhere that it means "little", so Ronaldinho is "little Ronald" because his father might well be called Ronaldo. I might be wildly wrong here but I don't speak Portuguese.
