tbf, the Giraffe was eaten as well - it may have gone in a blaze of glory on a BBQ, or it may have been eaten by Lions, hyenas, ants, vultures and all the rest, but it was eaten, it wasn't wasted - there will be lots of little Lions, or Hyenas, or Ants or Vultures that are bigger, stronger, or just alive, because mummy and daddy were able to bring back lumps of Giraffe...

Yeah, I realise that it will find its way back into the food chain - I was trying to draw some kind of distinction between cave paintings of people hunting antelope, for whom a successful hunt was likely to be the difference between survival and not, and some privileged American with a big gun sitting in front of a corpse.
Unlike some, I don't have a blanket objection to the idea of killing animals for food; I'm decidedly more queasy about killing them for sport, though.

It'll still be eaten even if it's stuffed. Taxidermists basically remove the skin and fur from the bones and meat and then reform it over a fibreglass or wooden frame. Very skilful work.
