I cant see how home delivery's really the best thing.. yet more traffic on the roads. etc.

Dont be daft, one van calling at say 20 houses, or twenty seperate car journeys.
It's obvious that home delivery = less traffic. :)

Ah! Good point - see I've never owned a car so I tend to forget this. Though if you still make a supermarket trip..

box schemes don't deliver catfood, washing powder or other heavy things people buy. Trips to the supermarket will be barely reduced simply because spuds are home delivered.

My comments applied to supermarket home delivery, as much as to box schemes.

There's an article about WalMart in today's Independent which makes interesting reading, btw.

indeed, I read they use what they call dead peasant's insurance, where they take insurance on their low paid workers which give Walmart benefits in case the workers die! no wonder they're being overworked....

sorry for the dragging up of an old thread but i was wondering if someone could supply me the name and address of someone i can write a letter of complaint to at tesco

oddly enough i cant find it on their website and i'm sure as fuck not filling in an online form which may get sent straight to the spam trap.

ooo do tell! What have they done now?

I am pleased to report that my boycott is still going strong :)
Put a couple of 'fuck yous' in your complaint from me.

I went to Tesco today :o because I wanted a cheap glass vase type thing, and I knew I'd get it in there...

Fucking nightmare it was, full of kids running around out of control, and people with their trollies piled so high with booze that they could hardly see where they're going...

Tesco are only closing two days, ffs.

Still, I got a nice cheap glass vase thing, and the piggies got some veg. And I had an eventful bus journey back, so that was alright.

i get the heavy things delivered and since i got out of hospital i get everything else delivered too.

yesterday they delivered my order 15mins before the end of the time slot (which is cool, i'm used to being last) and they managed to lose 16 items from a total of 64 including all the tea and coffee  which ment my constant supply of visitors had to be fed non organic unfair trade builders tea from the local shop (i was very embarassed ;)).

anyway i rang to complain and was told i would get a call back, to be fair it was about 4 mins when the surrey quays shop manager rang saying she'd checked the truck and they werent there which means they probably werent picked into the boxes right. but to replace them she'd have to clear it with her manager because there were 'high value' items (4 bottles of sol). she rings back leter saying they would drop them off today early afternoon. why they couldnt drop them off yesterday in the reamaining 9 hours of delivery time i dont know.

so today it gets to 7pm and i remember they were supposed to come, ring them and am told its been put first thing on the truck and will be with me 15 mins. it totally slips my mind until 8:45 when i ring again and am rung back by the nice scots bloke who doesnt give a fuck and told it will def be with me this eve and that he's asked barry the manager of surrey quays to ring me.

well Barry never rang me (oh the feeling of neglect i feel now :()and its just been delivered at 9:45 by a lovely but knackered truck driver. i wanted it at 1pm yesterday, at the end of the day i dont need my shopping delivered it is a luxury, but if it wasnt derv would be dead through overwork (cos i definately cant carry shopping just yet).

so i wanted to complain and con them out of at least my delivery fee.

end of rant

anybody got an address?

We could go throw eggs at the building next time you're up if they faff up again, if you like.

It's about 20 miles away.
