Boy aged 8 shoots dead his father plus one other, Arizona

given the Dad and 'male' friend were both killed I can't but wonder if a bit of karmic justice has occured here.

As stated to premeditate and murder to adults at age 8 don't come out of nowhere.:hmm:

Just as well that the age of criminal responsibility in Arizona is 8 then innit.

.

Yes, only in the US of A can children be sent to the same prison as adults and tried under the same law (they can also be executed). That's equality under the law for you!

The same sort of backward one that hung a monkey for being a french spy:o

Maybe part of Obama's 'Change' will prevent this in the future of the wild west.

and the same one that executed an elephant called Topsy for murder. They had originally planned to execute her by hanging but for various reasons dismissed this as a bad idea and settled on electrocution.

(((topsy the elephant)))

.22 is a nothing rifle isn't it?(or are the calibres different between pistols and rifles) must have done it from close range.
Usually the same round (.22 LR or "long rifle").
.22 can still kill you, but it's more apt for pigeon and rabbit than a human. I'm thinking that if the kid killed them, he took more than one shot at each victim.

New story and its another doozy.

Boy, 11, kills father’s pregnant girlfriend

WAMPUM, Pa.

An 11-year-old boy shot his father’s pregnant girlfriend in the back of the head while she was lying in bed in their western Pennsylvania farmhouse, police said Saturday.

Afterward, the boy got on the school bus and went to school, authorities said.

Best of all, the gun he used belonged to him and was specially designed for children, and such weapons do not have to be registered.

Regarding the original story in the OP, any truth to the rumour that the kid was being nonced by dad and friend, and therefore got their just desserts by being executed?

it was hartlepool. Thier football team is known as the monkey hangers.

A .22LR is more than capable of killing if it hits the head, a major blood vessel or the heart.

An air rifle in this country is limited to a muzzle energy of 12ft/lb and they can and do kill people, particularly if they are hit in the head. A .22LR is anywhere between seven and ten times the power depending on the gun it's fired from so you can guess the rest.

Just looked up what has happened next in the story and the kid has pled guilty.
No mention of sexual abuse.
When police asked whether he shot his father because he was mad at him, the boy offered a noncommittal "hmm" but said he was in trouble "most of the time" at home, mostly for lying.

WTF / FFS x 100,000

Has anyone mentioned 'only in America' yet?

You can (or at least could) buy .410 / 20 gauge shotguns in this country built for children so it's not as strange as you might think.

You also have to keep in mind that in most of the USA shotguns don't need a licence like they do in the UK.

The real problem is not so much the existence of the gun or even the lack of licensing but the fact that the child was able to get his hands on the thing without proper adult supervision. I doubt there are many people in this country who would allow their 11 year old free access to an air pistol let alone a shotgun and the law wouldn't look kindly on those who did.

Sadly when you have a free for all with firearms this sort of thing will happen. And I'm pro-gun by the standards of these boards.

Its a regular occurance in the US for kids to find their parents' guns & shoot siblings/friends, on TV there are ads telling parents to lock up their guns.

They have locked up this 11 year old boy up in an adult jail.

The warden is having to go to court tomorrow to appeal for the boy to be moved to a juvenile detention facility.

[The image shows the boy (no anonymity for him- his name is Jordan Brown), the dead woman and their home.]

I could cry. A more damning indictment of a justice system would be hard to find.

The boy has been in the jail some 45 miles northwest of Pittsburgh since early Saturday, Adamo said. He's being held in one of four 10-by-8-foot cells in the jail's booking area, where officials check on him every 15 minutes.

The boy gets the same food as the other inmates, but cannot receive visitors - except for his attorney - because doing so would require him to mingle with adult inmates, Adamo said. Even something as simple as letting the boy shower would require locking down an entire cellblock, most of which hold up to 63 inmates, Adamo said.

Brown's cell has a sink, toilet and a bunk and the inside can be seen from a desk where a booking clerk sits, Adamo said.

Brown's attorney, Dennis Elisco, said jail officials can't even find clothes to fit the 4-foot-8 boy.

"They put a shirt on him, he's swimming in it, and his pants are cuffed up about 10 times," Elisco said.

Brown is charged as an adult because Pennsylvania law allows prosecutors to charge children as young as 10 with criminal homicide. Elisco will file motions on Monday asking a judge to move the case to juvenile court and to let the boy's father post bail so he can be freed.

Well, you have to live in a land where they have the "right" to bear arms.

Bear arms??

No, plonker, shame this was a tragic case of random gun crime instead of a justified execution.

You are so deliciously odd!

Yes this what happened in the other case- an 11 year old boy in an adult jail. He is being kept separately but they are rolling up the ends of his trousers and checking on him every 15 mins.
