he's a chameleon, in the worst way. He's hollow and dishonest.
Well, the first example was more "they look cool, they've copped a lot off my last couple of records, I'll have a bit of that." But the actual music at that time- "Scary Monsters"- was pretty far removed from, say, Spandau Ballet. Thank fuck...
The drum & bass stuff I can not excuse, other than to say I think it's laudable for someone in his position to experiment with different genres, rather than simply resting on his laurels. Even if the results are lame...

As for the "hoolw & dishonest", I can't buy it: his best work, regardless of influences- about which he's always, in any case been completely honest- sounds unmistakably like Bowie and no one else.
