It's the same old story with traffic engineering in London though isn't it? 13 people on a bike a ride, yet none of them will be making the difference to actually get the proposals on the ground (no that thankless task will be given to some "lucky" engineer that doesn't just draw idealistic lines on a map). Given the seniority of the TfL people involved (Hendy and Kulveer, odds on that Tory Councillor from Kensington and Chelsea was also involved) you would have thought that they would have had something better to do than go for a bike ride (e.g. like creating a meaningful "Super Highway" for bikes that will amount to more than just a load of end to end advisory cycle lanes - in this case running along the A13 from Barking to Tower Hill would seem a likely guess - with Narrow Street as an alternative route that was less busy but has unsuitable traffic calming features and parking - and the people from Tower Hamlets playing ball as they get a Mayoral visit).
If the other door had swung as wide it would surely have knocked a cyclist under the wheels of the truck. Also, that road looks rather narrow for two-way traffic, doesn't it?
