i thought i'd start a thread about pet books.
the only pet books we have at the moment is the RSPCA's How To Care For Your Cat, which is good but very basic and so not that helpful, and a book about cat behaviour which is interesting but i got it in finland (it's an american edition) so i dunno if they publish it in the uk.
edit: - this one -

anyone got any more recommendations?

I saw one in the window of Past Times yesterday called 'Cats & their slaves' which made me think of Larry O'Hara :D

I've got the Readers Digest 'Cat Owners Problem Solver' which is quite useful, and a book called 'One hundred ways for a cat to train it's humans' by Celia Hammond. I think she is something to do with the Cats Protection League, but I could be wrong.

Desmond Morris - Catwatching. Not bad like, a few interesting things.

Felidae - the cat detective novel is enjoyable and full of "cat science" (also the sequel)

Just perusing my '100 ways for a cat to train it's human' book - It made me LOL.

'Knead their lap with your front paws. Humans appreciate this kitten-like gesture, but find it extremely painful. Have fun seeing their mixture of pleasure and pain.'

'Boycott the catflap. Sit on the window ledge until the human lets you in through the window. This is particularly good fun in a gale.'

'Eat a house plant. If you don't like the taste, tear it to shreds. Eat grass in the garden, come in and throw up on the best settee.'

I'm sure my cats have ben reading this book... :D
