Bodyshock Half Ton Son on Channel 4 now (2200) anyone else watching?

There was The Half Ton Mum on last year (I think, can't search as all short words) and she was all 'Oh I don't know how it happens, I don't eat that much' but she had her daughters wrapped around her little finger to bring her food because Mom was sad, and all that.

She had a gastric band fitted then died of a heart attack in the hospital a few days (?) later.

he was eating about 8000 calories a day ...

Only???

My son's daily intake is about 7000. However, he plays rugby 4 times a week, water polo once a week, trains in the gym 5 times a week and is studying sports and exercise science. He's also 19, 6'2" and he's 14.5 stone not 60!

Well that explains it tbh.

If you're eating 8,000 calories a day and all you do is lie in your bed then don't expect to look like Arnie!

I think you need to really put the hours in to be 60 stone. You gotta start when you are 5 and realise you can wrap your mum around your finger and then just eat and eat and sit at a computer all day playing games and get a lift to school and make your mum write notes to get you out of PE and eat some more and sit around some more and watch 108976 hours of telly. Then you get to be 60 stones. Your son is just lazy ;)

Thats what I mean. 8000 cals isn't an outrageous amount for someone of his age who is very active. If you look at it that way, its the inactivity thats killing him, not the food.

Could be a combination. 8,000 calories of burgers and chips and ice lollies is not the same as 7,000 getting your 5 a day. I take it your son eats healthily enough?

That sounds just like my teenage daughter. :hmm:

Blimey - how do you afford to feed him?!

I fell a sleep did he los all the wate in the end (19 stone)
I see the 1st op were he had 5 stone cut off.

 thinks his Mum was a big part of the problem feeding him!

That's not that much. In America anyway.

I went onto Burger King's site and a Triple Whopper with Large Fries and a Large Chocolate Shake comes in at 2,750 for that one meal.

That is a tasty burger. I have them take all the healthy stuff like lettuce out and replace it with more cheese and bacon.

Isn't that more than the recommended daily amount?

Didn't get to watch it but the mother is obviously deranged in the head! I hope he has a more managable weight now!

By the end of the programme he'd lost 30 stone. In an op near the start they cut five stones of fat off his stomach to make the gastric surgery happen.

You're thinking on Half Tonne Mum

No, there was another documentary a few months back maybe even a year ago with this kid in it....Something about over weight teens, I'm pretty sure they used about half of the footage from that one in this one.

I like the way big obese people often use their tummy as a work surface for food prep. Just makes good sense.

His bum was weird and flat like a cliff.
