Boasting about bargains thread!

Numerous people have been threatening to kill me for my fabulous knee high leather boots that I bought for £8 (!) in a charity shop.

I would have been perfectly happy to pay £50 or so quid for them if I'd seen them in a 'normal' shop.
Usually it's me who asks people where they got their boots from (because I'm a bit rubbish at shoe shopping) and gets the smug bargain hunters' reply.

Well chuffed.

I was hoping to boast about the Nicole Farhi swimsuit I found in TKMaxx for £4 ............ until I tried it on  :o . I've only just stopped laughing :D

Barry. There are others at Abergavenny and Monmouth.
Abergaveny?? ah well I spose they do have a few posher families living there;) unlike Barry, I guess they advertise it as their 'vale of glamorgan' store :D

I got a brand new book at Oxfam for a quid. I bought one for my pal too :)
It's got loads of traditional and herbal things in it.
It's called Country Wisdom and I shall probably be able to help with loads of things in Suburban with it

on that theme, my greatest bargain was a giant wine glass from the pound shop, fits a whole bottle of wine... "Oh go on then, I'll just have one glass" :D

Heh-i've done that too:D Along with only having 'one packet of crisps' but not mentioning it was a family size pack of kettle chips:o

Had my eye for some time on a nice Matthew Williamson bag at Debenhams, but just couldn't be arsed to spend over £50 on a bag. Spotted on 50% off in sale, plus blagged an extra 10% off as there was a bit that needed a tiny bit of stitching redone (took me 2 mins) and a little bit of dirt on the strap. Result! :)

I do recommend claiming a reduction if you see a slight snag on something - esp shoes, which look messy after one wear anyway usually.

I just bought a big Coach mummy bag from eBay - brand new and it was $50, original price $400. I absolutely expected it to be a fake, but the seller lives near the Coach outlet store in Boston, and she enclosed the receipt, and it's actually genuine.

It's a sort of khaki nylon, nice and plain, but big enough for changes of clothes, snacks, cups and all the other crap I carry around for the little un. Result. :)
