BNP hearing prompts court clashes

Attitudes by other groups

What are the attiudes by other anti fascist groups to this event?
Would have attacking the BNP on this day (especially outside a Court) have achieved anything, apart from people getting arrested.

With the Terrorism Bill going through, ID cards on the way and various other 'Draconian' measures (shoot to kill) the road to fascism seems to becoming from New Labour. That along with unaccountable government.

Since the demise of AFA in Britain there has been nothing to fill the gap. A reason for this could be the 'paternalistic' role played by Red Action and the difficulty of other groups involved with Anti Fascism with this to offer anything credible. There is also the problem with the changing nature of the Far Right.

At the moment having the middle class left organise a few hundred people demonstrating, throwing eggs and flower, and having a few students shouting inane slogans with half broken voices through a loud hailer is probably the best option. Although I consider shouting "Nazis" as hysterical and counter productive, at least it portrays that theses people are still fascists, which may hazard them in gaining respectability and establishing a 'New Right' party.

MC5 made him up on the bus home, thinking it'd scare any fash reading this thread.

The image is contemporary SWP-think for 'big tough working class bloke.'

Tattoos are compulsory in the working class, yer know. Particularly 'political' ones. On the neck.

I know a bloke who's got 'Come on then fash bastards' on one eyelid and 'do yer wanna do?' on the other. Trouble is, when he's threatening them they think he's winking at 'em.

Careful old bean.... I am tattooed.... Regrets.. moi?? Je regret rien.... well apart from 1 or 2 tattoos  :(

Btw nowt political and nowt on my neck. :D

That said it seems some in the ANL can't help but assume with tattoos. Back in the early 90's in Brum (when clash meant clash) the BNP had a paper sale in some dingy passage way behind C&A me and a few mates popped along for a wee look. And bless some eagle eyed ANL type spotted a couple of white, shorthaired tattooed blokes and started calling us nazi scum.... aww bless

I'm acquainted with a leftie woman who still automatically associates cropped hair with 'Nazis' even now. I think she must have hibernated throughout the eighties and nineties.

I remember a load of Bristol University ANL scarpering form a pub when me and my mates came in (and we were there to meet *them*) - leaving a membership and activity list on the table.

Neither, I'd say.

There's skinheads and there's boneheads - that photo's of the latter.
yeah i know, i had found some good ones of skinheads with nices shirts, harringtons - even bowler hats - but they were huge. And that one was funny.

Whats the name of that long coat skinheads wear (wore)? Thats really ancient. Theres one i see in sheffield, looks a bit like a gentleman of the road really - drinks ace outside the offy most days, and he's got one of those long coats.

The tailoring firm I once worked for put out crombies by the rail load. Red handkerchief and brolly were accessories.

I had a herringbone suit made - 20 inch bottoms with turn-ups. Also, iridescent stay-press trousers. Topped off with braces, a ben sherman shirt and brogue shoes.

Listened to soul and ska.

When a skinhead.........

Neither look like original skinheads, they both look like the 1979 variety. Far too 'punk' for my own liking. Not to mention the ridiculous skin tight jeans etc etc

oh no, that wasn't what i was agreeing with at all. They are 1980's yeah, but they are definitely skinheads (boneheads if you prefer). I was agreeing they might be far right - in some of the pics in that series from some book there was some dodge graffiti in the background.

Third Positionist refers to a member or supporter of known Fascist group the International Third Position.

If memory serves, the ITP was/is bankrolled by Italian Fascist Roberto Fiore, and once had Nick Griffin as a member/supporter.

I read the BNP press release about yesterday. Now you'd expect some differences and bias but it seems obvious from the 2 press releases that the chronic bullshitting would embarrass the Govt.

was it legible? read on...

The Full Might Of The Sheffield BNP Revealed
Just a few months ago Sheffield BNP fielded six candidates in the general election, so taking into account nominees back then they must have had a membership of at least 66 fascists

However this morning when the BNP held a demonstration against the Bishop of Sheffield in the city centre it was only attended by seven prime examples of the master race.
