Blur to reform for Hyde Park gig next year

what's visibility like at HP if you're a short arse?

knewbworth doesn't have enough of a natural slope, rendering it pointless.

according to Albarn there will be further dates around the country too. hoping Alex James will persuade them to come to Bournemouth :D

i can't be arsed to go to this, but on principle i hope they get the Cardiacs to support them again and piss everyone off.

I don't think Tim's well enough is he? He's still recovering from his heart attack earlier in the year. Cardiacs are on hold right now.

Anyway, it's all academic cos the tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday and will sell out having been bought up by the touts and be selling on ebay for £7zillion by midday :rolleyes:

I can get some from the pre-sale from 9am tomorrow, I'll pick you one up if you like.

Say, ninety squid? :)

I saw them at a fanclub gig in kentish town just before they released 13 for about a tenner - as such I don't think I'll be bothering with this outing . . .

I really rate Blur (Damon does my nut!), but I'm not gonna sit in that vast fucking alcohol free field and listen to the wind blow the sound sideways!

I have my memories of Mile End - the rain, the beer, for tomorrow :)

I've been emailed a passcode for the presale starting tommorow - pm me if anyone wants it and the link

If ever I was going to pay £45 quid to stand in a field, a reformed Blur with a reinstated Coxon might be just the right band to convince me. I bet the supporting lineup will be all tedious indie shite like Kaiser Chiefs or something though :(

I just think with Blur most of the members have done alright since splitting up, so £45 is a lot. If they had been living in a cardboard box or performing charity work then maybe. But the pricks are already loaded:mad:

I'd consider going to a gig around here if it was based on their best of, as their albums are mostly dull and drag too much in artsy crap. £45 seems too expensive, but considering they were one of the main draws of the 90s, it's not that off. Unless I've got my figures wrong, it's on the same level as a Radiohead or a Coldplay gig, so the price seems spot on for a first series of gigs.

Oh, and I can already see a new line of shirts in the horizon :D
