Blunkett resigns

Will Blunkett survive?

I note that quite a few people have added to the poll AFTER his decision to resign was announced.

Cheeky!

I'm actually pretty fucked off that he's resigned, not because I don't think he's a tosser with elastic morals (that goes without saying given his chosen profession) , but because I have no doubt a Blair loyalist will get the post and push through Blair's mediaeval-style reforms to Incapacity Benefit that were being touted in the last week or so.

On Radio 4 right now they are doing what sounds like an obituary on his life. Come to think of it they are probably using his ready prepared obit as a source.

I am glad to see the back of him.

Hocus

Is it not slightly illegal to use ones power and influence, especially when the Crown is being abused, to push up the price of shares that one has bought previous?

Should Mr Blunkett be under criminal investigation for a felony close to insider trading?

And can we sit straight faced when Tony Blair calls somebody an honest man?

I know I can't. Tony Blair praising someones honesty is like coming across a playgroup called 'The King Herod Day Nursery'

er so they had Incapacity benefit in medieval times VP? Have you written your own history books again?

yes, but we shoud be vigilant and challenge whoever gets into post, btw, VP and others, many many people are still waiting on that composite letter to send to your mp over the IB cuts...is it on its way?

Blair made a (Freudian?) slip of the tongue in his Parliament today. In speaking about Blunkett's 'resignation' he referred to "...this dismissal..." He continued to try to explain his recent support of Blunkett suggesting that he had decided against dismissal. The word dismissal was re-iterated several times.

I think that Blair wanted to keep Blunkett on board because he needs friends but probably told him that he would broadcast this support on condition Blunkett reassessed his own position within the next few days and if the story had not died down he would resign. Blunkett realised after yesterday's media splurge on the story that he was required to 'fall on his sword'. After all he has already had one extra life given to him. This last paragraph is of course speculation.

Ah, the soi-disant voice of the people speaks.

If you had an ounce of wit in your head you'd notice I wrote "mediaeval-style", which signifies that I believe Blair's current proposals to be regressive and punitive.

Don't let that stop you from crapping out a load of verbal dung though, balders. You're probably used to the taste of shit, given that your tongue has been firmly up Tony Blair's arse for so long.

I was going to post it on monday, but after reading the weekend papers I'm in the process of re-writing it to include Blair's latest bout of rightwing colic-inspired "policy proposals".

I wouldn't mind if these proposals were at all productive but they're aimed more at assuring Blair's political legacy than they are at stabilising or rendering more fair a contentious area of benefit provision.

I'll try and have it done by tomorrow.

Your hate is very palpable, but do you really have to give voice to it every time someone has another opinion than your's?

I've never been happier to see a minister resign. Lets hope that turd never resurfaces in a senior position again.

he won't. Only churchill, IIRC, has come back after two resignations, and neither of those were caused by scandal (first-switching parties, second-hissyfit). blunkett is finished.

Sory, did somebody say something, or did I perchance hear a lapdog bark?

Finished? Maybe he is. But don't forget, we're in Blair's world now.
are we? still?? blairs world is falling apart, this resignation is a sign of that.

All depends upon what gordon thinks now.
