Bloody Fucking DVD Burner

Apologies if someone already said this (I think they did but it wan't properly picked up on), but it could well be the speed you're burning at.

My PC is fairly fast, good HDs etc.... but burning at 8X overworks the HD and screws up the burn... it doesn't stall like yours but stutters and runs out of buffer....

Try 4X... you can still still do 4 gig in like 12 minutes...

Nah, this is burning movies etc, so nowhere near those speeds. But it was drive space issue in the end anyway.

thanks folks

Im having major issues with burning DVD's lately.

May I make a suggestion. The most stable reliable way I have found to burn DVD's (and I have burnt a lot) is using WinAVIVideoConverter and Drag n drop dvd (bizzarly).

All my dealings with the many versions of nero have ended in waisted dvd's.

I dunno but try and give that a go.

actually, i'm having a world of fun with it now.

For ripping DVDs, i use DVDshrink to create an ISO to burn in Nero. (45 mins to rip, 15 mins to burn at x4, on average)

For downloaded torrents etc, I use Nero Vision Express to burn the avis - i like the menu creation and the fact that i can actually trim the credits etc off really easily if an episode is just too long to squeeze on a DVD. This takes about 2 hours to burn, and it's resource hungry, but if i set one in the evening, one when i go to bed and one before work, i can burn 6 hour-long episodes a day.. which seems a little longwinded but possibly the best I can hope for..
