He makes me angry because not only is he generally incorrect (which is in itself not a crime) but arrogant. He believes that everyone else is the problem but not him. He thinks like a New Labour politician, mistaking feelings for facts, prejudices for rationale, and nonsense for sense. Plus he insults everyone he disagrees with whilst acting like others start the fight. Clearly he honestly believes that everyone around here really are intellectual pygmies. If being opposed to such arrogance and unpleasantness is soft-headed to you, then you;re just as bad as he is. Probably worse. At least he's skim-read the stuff he pretends to understand and critique, you just follow him around like a lap-dog in order to try and defend him from the nasty critics using the sort of mind-games and i-know-you-are-what-am-i toss that most people grow out of at puberty.

im just saying that the very reason you are opposed to max, is because you are a soft headed emotional creature. we all are. you are just denying your own spirit the room to breathe, by claiming that this logical reaction has a foundation other than your heart.
i dont think the critics are nasty. its just a natural reaction to your entire world view being threatened. no world model is absolute, but it feels healthier to embrace paradox rather than trying to ignore it.

my worldview isn't being threatened you daft apeth. i LIKE my worldview being threatened, one of the best things that urban has done for me is that there are people on here who have constantly challenged my worldview and taught me that subjectivity influences how you see the world. if max genuinely challenged my worldview i wouldn't have a problem with his philosophy, because you can learn stuff from people who are wrong and who you disagree with. if nothing else you learn to appreciate the rightness of your viewpoint and be given food for thought. max doesn't challenge me, he offends me by the way he operates. same as you, the apir of you are intellectually dishonest and for all you cry about subjectivity neither of you are willing to learn from others or have your own worldview challenged. you hide behind your bullshit subjectivity cloak but are only subjective when it gives you the chance to pretend you're intellectually superior. whenever anyone does challenge you piss around with childish "i'm rubber you're glue". it's anti-philosophy, it's entrenched positions, it's toss.
And that is my final word on the matter. Feel free to try some more of that pseudo-psychiatric bollocks, knock yourself out. I've had enough therapy over the years to be able to tell the difference between a useful contribution into my mental health and understanding of my own feelings, and an attempt to poison the well during one of your intellectual showboating attempts by suggesting that my dislike of your games is some sort of denial.
