For wind power to be fully reliable, it needs constant wind, which is impossible.
Tidal power is still at an early stage of development, and will be extremely expensive.
Hydrogen power is still at too early stage of development as well.
Washed coal leaves massive amounts of residue which need to be disposed of, and relies on huge amounts of chemicals and electricity, so is very expensive and polluting.
Gas is going to be a nightmare in a few years -- think about Russia cutting off supplies to Ukraine recently -- it would be extremely irresponsible for any government to rely on imported gas (think about the mess of the Middle East and extend it to Russia).
Nuclear power has come a hell of a long way since Three Mile Island, Sellafield, and Chernobyl -- it is much safer than burning fossil fuels, and it is more reliable than renewables.
We should definately continue development/investment in green-friendly technologies, but we cannot rely on them fully.
intresting to see your pronocuments about other things being as wildly inaccurate as your supposed being the olny person able to save plaesitne stance...
