I'm getting very excited about this now, as much as i was trying not to. Roll on October.

I can't fucking wait! Been waiting for years for a decent BR DVD release, it's one of all time favourite (the Directors Cut not the crappy 'theatre' version)!

...Zora's shooting and slow motion death, which was one of the most obvious substitutions of a stunt double ever, has been re-shot...

WTF!!!!!!

Probably the best bit in the film...where she crashes through all the glass...I love that!!! Noooooo!!!!

edit: well, not the best bit, but one of the most moving.

I have to admit that i'm one of those peculiar people who loves both versions. The original release blew me away so much when i first saw it, that watching it again is like looking at an old favourite photo. And then the directors cut came along and the whole thing made even more sense. And now there's 4 versions and 5 dvds and all the rest of it.....it'll be like christmas come early

The bulky stunt man with the ratty wig, who looked nothing like the slender actress who played Zora always took me right out of that scene. They just re-shoot the stunt with the original actress Joanna Cassidy. The scene will still be the same just without the crap stunt substitution. What's wrong with that ?

Nothing if they keep it the same.

Funny, I've watched the film at least 25 times and never noticed the stuntman!

withnail and i , however, i will happily watch till the cows come home. particularly the scene in the cafe, and the bedroom benny hill style chase around the bed. and that makes me cool

Benny Hill, howveer, I will happily watch 'til the cows come home. Particularly the scene in the Bradbury building, and the country lane bull chase with the vegetables. And that makes me cool.

It still hasn't bloody been released despite the pre order saying Mid October originally (it's now December allegedly).

Finally, it's coming out. You can pre order it here (and get it for £18 too!).
No thanks, I can rent it for two weeks for $3.99 which would be about two quid :)

Apparently is coming out within the next four days (according to Play.com which probably isn't very accurate)...

My favourite film! I know what I'm getting for xmas. Doesn't look like it will be shown on any cinemas over here so this'll have to cheer me :(

Just posted on 07 films thread about this, we went to watch it at the Ritzy this afternoon, and it was fucking fabulous. I've dropped heavy hints about what father xmas should be bringing me

Did it come in the silver box with a handle or a tin?

I'm thinking of flying back to england just to watch Blade Runner at the Ritzy...
