Blackberry Bold (900) goes official. And it's a bit of looker.

2. on that list is a must for me - as you pay per mb of download when you travel abroad, it saves you a fortune. I'm still on the curve - with a software updgrade, I especially like Vodafone satnav, which comes on Vodafone Blackberrys very useful - even has a 'walk' setting, we've used it loads of times when we are boating to find the nearest supermarket. Haven't bothered with the bold, the reviews weren't great.

But I'm wondering if its time to defect to something else? It's the email that keeps me using the crackberry coz I need constant access.

I never saw the upside of moving from a Curve to the Bold really for the work phone. We're trialing some HTC devices, the G1 and hopefully the Plam Pre against the current BB Curves/Bolds the company uses.

Could be interesting result as they're also thinking of (finally!!!) moving off Domino/Notes on to Exchange/Outlook :) iPhone was already discounted as being too expensive...IT team talked to Apple said they wanted 370-ish handsets and what discount they could offer. The reponse: 2%. Thanks!

Its the attachment compression thing and having to be on 02 thats the reason I dont want an iphone. It'll cost me a fortune. Brothers got one and the apps are excellent though.

Unlimited data plan though
Not if you go abroad it ain't - was with my iphone toting friend when we were travelling last week - on Vodafone I pay 75p flat rate to call home - uses your 'free minutes'. She was paying 38p a minute. She was also paying £3 per mb of downloads - when your phone doesn't compress any email attachments, then it can be very expensive. I'm probably paying the same but my email attachments are weeny therefore cheaper.
That's why I've always stuck with Vodafone, whilst they have rubbish tariffs for personal use, for business and business travel they are the cheapest. (AFAIK)
