Sounds good, like a cross between black pudding and haggis but at the end of the day I doubt it can ever beat the combo of as three nice slices of black pudding with fried soda bread, fried wheaten bread, potato farls, couple of eggs, some bacon, a sausage or two, a bit of white pudding and maybe a fried tomato or three.
After writing that I think I'll go home for Christmas and have a few of those.
 
When I was in the infants some nasty little dinner lady tried to make me eat black pudding. I vomited everything I'd eaten that day all over her. Memories eh :)

They'd probably be sued for giving infants Black pud now.
 
Great stuff. I normally just fry it up but have done really poncey things with it when making fancy meal e.g. wrapped in pancetta and grilled before being served with a mixed leaf salad, balsamic dressing and topped with a poached egg - yum!
 
Stornoway Black Pudding & fried tattie scones - The perfect finishing touch to a Sunday fry-up! Or bacon & black pudding in a bap with plenty of your favourite sauce, if you are a little challenged for time. :D

Seen a few up-market places serving it on salad, with pate or betroot recently.

The battered puddings sold in chippers here do tend to be less rich than the proper slicing pud.
 
I never used to like it much, and always thought it was a bit too rich to eat with a fry up, but I had some nice black (and white) pudding in Dublin recently, so am slowly coming round to the idea.
 
If I wasn't a pesce-vegan, I would probably gravitate towards offal. :)

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall almost had my mouth watering when he made his. :o
 
lovely stuff- works well with stewed apple as well as someone else said.

Also can be surprisingly healthy- Bury black pudding only 5% fat (if grilled).

Can be atrocious though if you order a cooked breakfast- had really rank black pudding a couple of times- one mouthful (nearly) putting me off rest of breakfast.

But at its best sublime.
