"Black Mesa" - Half Life 1 remake - New Trailer

Oh, I understand. They'd just better not mess with bollock spider.
Nobody messes with bollock spider

This is the only available screenshot of the bollock spider in Black Mesa:

I think it might have had some work done in the mean time.

Does any one remember the mod for HL that was full of stupidly powerful weapons... rocket launchers that shoot 6 rockets at once, an automatic shotgun, I think it had a grappling hook too.

Something Ice, or Ice something.

It was ridiculous fun.

My old imac at home is hopelessly underpowered for this, so will be forced to sacrifice all my lunchbreaks for the next two weeks to play it. OH WELL :D

Personally don't give a fuck, its too old for me.

HALF LIFE 3

*bangs desk*

If I make the font large enough will valve hear me?

In the trailer it looks like all they did was update the renderer and texture maps, the meshes and animation are identical if memory serves me right.

Your memory is doing you a great disservice! There is much more detail in the levels and items. The character meshes are a vast improvement. Animation is much better.

Played this for an hour or two yesterday, looks really nice and still plays really well. I can vaguely remember where to go and what to do but I'm sure there are some new things going on that I don't recall. Anyway I'm stuck in a water bit at the moment..cant remember what to do yet!

Fantastic looking site, what will I need to play this? Just download it or will I need half life 1 or two installed first?

Don't you need HL2, or a game that uses the engine as well, I would have thought? (and you forgot to put 9. ????? 10. PROFIT! :D)

ETA: Half Life 2 currently costs £6.99 on Steam

I'm just at the end of On a Rail and so far the quality has been superb :)

Although I have been running the following tweaks:

Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\BMS\cfg\skill.cfg
ai_reaction_delay_alert "0.3"
ai_reaction_delay_idle "0.75"

to make things a little fairer against the soldiers, who otherwise headshot you in microseconds.
and

Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\BMS\cfg\autoexec.cfg

bind "space" "+jumpcrouch"
alias +jumpcrouch "+jump; wait 5; duckON"
alias -jumpcrouch "wait 5; duckOFF; -jump"
alias duckON "+duck"
alias duckOFF "-duck"

//fix jump from crouch state
bind "ctrl" "+normalduck"
bind "c" "+normalduck"
alias +normalduck "+duck; alias duckON; alias duckOFF"
alias -normalduck "-duck; alias duckON +duck; alias duckOFF -duck"

which lets you crouch jump just by holding space

Just gone about two hours after just meaning to have a quick look.

Fuck me, they've done an excellent job. Just like ten years ago!

How would I go about making those changes? Where would I edit/enter them, in the console?

In your Program Files (or Program Files (x86) if you're running a 64-bit windows) folder, there is a Steam folder. above each tweak I've said which file you need to edit (Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\BMS\cfg\ skill.cfg and autoexec.cfg.) Just copy and paste the text into the relative files and save them. Make copies first if you're scared :)
