Bjork UK tour presale tix – get on it!

I'm not really getting this 'she did the best gig ever ever ever and totally blew my mind but I'm not paying £45' vibe  Even for a skinto like me, £45 isn't really that much money for such an amazing and unique experience.
Pays your money, takes your choice I guess...

I imagine there's stuff I'd pay £££s for that other's wouldn't, I just won't pay it for a gig, no matter who it is.

If I'd not seen her at Glasto this year I might have been tempted, but even then I doubt it.

Bjork at the Union Chapel??? With a string quartet?????

You lucky *£$£"*(!"£"!

Yes, I think it was 1999 or 2000. Was very lucky to get a ticket, it was quite magical. The only downside was the seats in the chapel were really hard - wished I had taken a cushion :D

After just missing the last couple of tickets for monday yesterday (did a new batch go on sale?), does anyone have or know anyone who has one or two standing tickets for monday or thursday spare? :)

Yes it's a bit of a late decision but there's a very good reason behind it :o

Cheers

Saw her on Friday in Manchester, and boy are you guys with tickets in for a treat!

Seeing her on Thurs 17th!!!, can't wait, last time I saw her was at the Gmex Manchester in '96, she's amazing.

So what blew you away?, is Leila still supporting?

Can't really pick one part in particular i'm afraid, it was just one bloody amazing gig. The musicians, dancers, stage effects, lighting, variety of tracks, and of course Bjork herself all made it a magical event.

And yeah, leila is still supporting, although I missed that bit trying to sell my hospitalised friend's ticket. Ended up getting £10 for it off a tout.

Me too, all being well :)

I have never been to the Apollo before - I asume that you are not allowed to take in your own plastic water bottle (but no doubt pay £2 for one half the normal size inside!)

Is it just Bjork or is there a support first?
What time did she go on?

Thanks :)

Support act are on first (not sure who it is). She went on at 9:30pm last night apparently. She was timetabled to go on at 9pm.

Mail me if anyone has a couple for Sunday at Hammersmith Apollo

didn't think i cared, but a friend who saw her on Monday hasn't stopped waxing lyrical about it since, and I realise now that for Bjork, the amazingly individual performer and artist of a century, I really should make the effort to see her.

and she does have a 20 strong all female orchestra with her, so 45 quid seems fair :D

Yes that's kind of how I feel. I saw her in 1995 at Reading and she was pretty good but it seems that she's become something iconic since then. I don't normally ever pay to see gigs so 40 quid for this is at the top end of any gig I'd pay for.

I suppose, it's one of those things that should be done seeing as everyone is saying how amazing she is live.

I saw her with the Sugarcubes a few times, and in the 90s solo. But I really do think she's at the top of her game at the moment - when i saw her last year, she was phenomenal. I've found a lot of her stuff is 'admirable' rather than necessarily enjoyable but with the new album and the show that's based on it, she's found a really good balance and it's brilliant

I'm not sure yet. I'll be around but not sure what time I'll go down for. Are the support acts worth checking out anyone?

Toumani Diabate never heard of him! :D

Will have a listen on you tube but I'm not gonna get up there til about 8ish and she'll be on stage about half 9 I think.

I'm gonna get smashed lol :D:o

I'll probably go home and eat before actually as I only live a 10 min walk from Hammersmith Apollo.

I'll show up around 8/8:30 - don't want to drink too much cos I always end up needing to wee through the gig about three times which is REALLY annoying. Especially if I'm shelling out 40 quid for it! :D

I thought it was Leila something?
you gonna remember any of it? ;) :D
see above quote^ :D

(smashed and with a camera? ;-))

Not massively smashed, but smashed enough yes

I'm just going by what was said here
