The next time someone smashes you in the face when you are being polite to them I hope you bear that in mind...:D

Like I said, I didn't say it was a wise thing to do, but people lose it sometimes for a variety of reasons, I wouldn't totally dismiss Bjork as a bad person because she lost the plot at the airport.

And she didn't smash her in the face, there was some hair pulling and that was about it.

Hanson have never written a song that comes anywhere near being as great as Bjork but to be fair to her not many artists have :)

You're not wrong there :p

You can accuse Bjork of many things, but call her boring? That's absurd. Even if you hate her music, you can't deny she's one of the most original and innovative women artists in the world today. You can't compare her with some forgotten pretty-boy pop – she's in an entirely different league.

The comparison to Bjork was facile, but I never understood why Hanson got such a bad rap. They had a hippy kid look which at least was different from the market researched styles of other boy bands, they wrote their own songs and their music was catchy pop remiscent of the Jackson 5, which isn't such a bad thing really.

She's great at the music thing but really should leave the acting alone. Her performance in Dancer in the Dark made want to stick pins in my eyes. Good hanging though I cheered for that bit:)

I like Bjork and I also like molesting children.

You're a disgrace Skim. :p

OK what's your favourite Bjork song of all time? I bet it's not even 50% as good as that Hanson masterpiece... ;)

I always think it's a bad idea to form opinions of a famous persons personality if you don't actually know them. All you have to go on is the media, which is inevitably a distortion of real events. You don't know what went on in her life that pushed you to do it and it's certainly not a regular occurance with her. The woman who was the victim of the attack has obvioulsy forgiven her, so there is no reason why you should keep banging on about it. In the end this is a forum about music and maybe it would be a good idea to stick to that.

I love Bjork's music with the exception of Medulla, which I never got into. Vespertine is one of my all time fave albums and I love the soundtrack from Dancer in the Dark, depite despising the film. There hes been a clear progression in her work. Debut was quite fragmented and her albums have become more cohesive over time.

Have you really never formed an opinion of someone based upon newspapers and books? That's amazing.

I don't have to forgive her mate she didn't attack me. :)

One of very few artists I actively cannot stand.

She sings like a puffin, slowly leaking its cargo of helium.

Joga, probably. Funnily enough, it's about 200% better than Hanson. I know – I've done the maths ;)

How the fuck did this thread become a shoot-out with Hanson  :D

I'm much like Dub on this one, but I love her dearly and still think that Joga is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

yes bjork is amazing. she is truly unique and hence a real starette.

it took me a few years to really like/love her music though rather than only respecting her for her strentgh and confident music style.

At her best between the Sugarcubes and becomming a Diva.

A couple of months ago picked up a promo 12" Ooops by her & 808 State.

'tis totally sublime.

I heart Bjork.
I always wanted to marry her (well in theory, I mean, I've never met her, but she's just that awesome).
Bjork rocks.
So many ace songs. And she even let Alec Empire remix Joga for some DHR-rampancy to add to her awesomeness.

Total Minx:)

I've read that the list of her recent collaborators includes not just Mark Bell and Timbaland, but also Konono #1, Meredith Monk, Chris Corsano, and Lightning Bolt's Brian Chippendale!!

Sorry for the C+P, but this was sent via myspace, thought it was worth posting here. New album soon – can't wait to hear what she's done with Konono No1 :)

"These songs are to be on the new album she has been working on for the past months. She has been all around the world to record, working with numerous people from truly different background. I have been left with many thoughts after listening to these tracks, the first impression is that I want to hear more, as I did not get everything shortlisted for the record. It made me excited.

The only thing I have heard prior of the making of this new record was a collaboration with Timbaland was being penned in. They met for a couple of sessions and laid down some beats for two tracks, "then I took these tracks and worked on them further", says Björk. This is true, as I hear that she has taken them to a another level.

We speak about the many collaborators on this record and the list is very interesting as Antony Hegerty duets on two tracks. Drummer Chris Corsano jumps into at least the 2 songs. New sounds and instrumentation are provided by Toumani Diabate who plays the Kora and Konono nr.1 with electric thumb pianos. More percussive delights come from Brian Chippendale from Lightning Bolt Great artists being drafted into the fold!

This list is very impressive and intriguing and from this first batch of song create a very unique sound and emotion. Nothing sounds really familiar about this experience, apart from the name of Mark Bell, him I know. And Sjón, turns to form to deliver one lyric, his 5th lyric since they started work together. This record is a Björk production par excellence. No stone left unturned to seek out the perfect pitch."
