Well we have one less bird to count. Got up the other morning to see a sparrowhawk sitting on the back fence(one of the few bits still standing) eating something.

There wasn't enough feathers left to do an id later that morning, but it wasn't one of the neighbours doos

I got a rather nice free RSPB guide to garden birds in the post this morning. Much easier to use than a big book full of obscure birds that get lost and end up here by mistake.

Typically there was hardly any birds in my garden today when I looked(a few times) so I'm hoping tomorrow will be better. Maybe the weather was too good today
