Didn't Danny get booked and booked again for the same incident?? I'm sure I saw a yellow card first as I gallantly marched towards the goal, they were attacking, on my bib crusade
If it was directed at the individual who seemed to know the intimate details of the players' wage packets not surprised. Had those "facts" been accurate, we'd be paying Football League wages.

In actual fact I understand our budget is among one of the higher in the division, but certainly not the highest out there. And it's certainly not a patch on what Maidstone United and Margate were paying last season....

I would imagine Hampton's budget is pretty generous based on the pedigree of some of the players they have, i.e. experienced at higher levels without being has-beens, much like many of our own players. But we all know the league isn't decided purely on available funds for players.
I'm not really interested in whether other clubs have a bigger wage budget than us, but we ought to be doing better with the squad we have under an established manager IMO. An earlier comment that "we should be pissing this league withe the players and budget we have" is far too glib for me. That's what a lot of Margate fans were saying at the start of last season, and we all saw what happened there. What I will say is that with the squad we have we ought to be capable of accumulating 95-96 points (as Maidstone and Hendon did last season) rather than being ten points adrift of the top two (as Margate were at the end of last season). If someone else is so good that 95 points or so doesn't win us the league, fair enough I'll take my hat off to them. We can now get a maximum of 90 even if all our remaining games are won.
We may yet get up via the play-offs as Margate did, but if that happens it will be a somewhat hollow triumph for me personally, as I desperately want to see Hamlet as Isthmian League champions for the first time in my lifetime. I'd have settled for coming up from D1S via the play-offs, as I felt we were long overdue to reclaim our place in the Premier Division, but this time I want the big prize (as I see it) before we move onwards and upwards.
