Bill to be first male First Lady?

Neither is Cheney, but Dubya had that whole 'down at home' thing going on.

Plus he had news anchors discussing the lack of movement in Al Gore's eyebrows during the Prex'tl debates (for example) rather than actual policy content...

Sure. I hear that mad Coulter woman finds Cheney a turn-on. It must be a power thing.

Hilary and Obama on a joint ticket I reckon - first female prez with a black VP waiting in the wings to come in after two terms?

Aye, its the 'Dream Ticket' for the Dems innit.

I still reckon the Republicans will run Condi against them though.

I can't see how she can win. She is a right wing Democrat who is unlikely to pick up moderate republicans. This is because for some reason the rightwing press has absolutely and bizarrely villified her and made her into this demon. Whether its the Clinton name or something else I'm not sure. But just look at anything on freerepublic or by Fox News talking heads and they spout so much shit about how she is really an unstable, power hungry, crypto-socialist. However she has much of the party machine behind her such as the DLC (although I get the impression they have been discredited after the recent Democrat win), and the popularity of Bill who despite the whole Lewinsky scandal, left office with massive approval ratings.

Really the only reasonably decent looking candidate is Dennis Kucinich who has absolutely no chance of winning the nomination. He was strongly against Iraq and concentrates on pushing for full healthcare and not just via ensuring everyone has insurance. This is the most obvious thing the Democrats would push for if they had any sense because the American healthcare system is an absolute disgrace and universal healthcare has always been popular, even among many in middle america and the traditionally conservative working class of the 'bible belt'.

It seems to me that the US right are too obsessed with appearances. Hillary Clinton is no socialist and Bill was no raving liberal either. But it isn't about policies or buring issues, it's all about gang warfare. One could look at the two parties and conclude that they are, in essence, a couple of big gangs who will take money from the man with the biggest wallet.

Little has changed from the days when gangs held sway in town and city halls across the country. Tammany Hall ran the city of New York for around 150 years, it was dominated by private interest groups and criminal gangs.
