Could you show how this follows from:

Butchers. I have answered your "how does it affect me" question more than once.
It can't be too secret if we know where it is and on what dates. That these people need to meet in secret (at all, not just bilderberg) says it all.
I'm 1999 their minutes were leaked to the Big Issue. As far as I can tell these were genuine(?). There was nothing extravagant in what was revealed, but one or two things were interesting. It doesn't seem like they arrive at decisions or policies there but rather it's a kind of 'talking shop', as a previous poster describes it.
Frogwoman
"Its just another mainfestation of the socialism of fools discrediting and distracting attention away from actual real concerns facing us and harming innocent people."
real concerns like war, resources and the environment that are discussed at length at these meetings. Those real concerns.
Sure, we need to be active in our own areas and not get too sucked in by this stuff. But I still havent seen a person say why this conference isnt or shouldnt be as big a target for protest as a G8.[/QUOTE]
One reason not to take Bilderberg meetings as seriously as a target for protest as the G8 is that it does not really take any decisions. Its just for discussion.
From Wikipedia:
Denis Healey, a Bilderberg founder and former British Chancellor of the Exchequer, decries [conspiracy theories]. He was quoted by BBC News as saying "There's absolutely nothing in it. We never sought to reach a consensus on the big issues at Bilderberg. It's simply a place for discussion."
I'm not an expert, but is there any evidence of the Bilderberg coming to a consensus and a decision that was not reached at other more public meetings?
It can't be too secret if we know where it is and on what dates.
What has bildeberg got to do with me?
I don't know what this organisation really does behind closed doors, but i find it interested to watch the reactions of some people who are happy to be sceptical of governments and their leaders, except when they all get together in secret to discuss who knows what - which illicits a response of
"And so what?"
Thank goodness they are all good people eh?

The "Jewish sounding name" is after the name of the hotel it was first held at, as you probably know. No mystery. No conspiracy.
It's a Dutch name and it doesn't even sound Jewish.
Eddyblack and Barkingmad have both made very cogent points.
To me, the secret unminuted agenda is a reason to be more suspicious not less.
Butchers. I have answered your "how does it affect me" question more than once.
If however you are convinced it doesnt affect you I am envious indeed for you must be one of very few people who doesnt have to pay taxes or buy things and things like the energy crisis, climate change, food prices and wars clearly dont bother you - which must be nice.
However I would observe that "it doesnt affect me so I dont care" is a foundation stone in conservative and reactionary thinking.

All spooky stuff.

There's nothing to say 'so what' to - all there is is a list of things that effect pretty much anyone, with no attempt made whatsoever to link them to the bilderberg group. Maybe you could have a go at it, at explaining it to me?
And as far as i can see, i didn't reply to that list of things that effect everyone by going 'so what' but by asking taffboy to link those things to the BG - as above. I mean, if they're directl results of their actions, and they effect pretty much everyone it should be a piece of piss to demonstrate this - right?
CHANTILLY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The 56th Bilderberg Meeting will
be held in Chantilly, Virginia, USA 5 – 8 June 2008. The Conference will
deal mainly with a nuclear free world, cyber terrorism, Africa, Russia,
finance, protectionism, US-EU relations, Afghanistan and Pakistan,
Islam and Iran. Approximately 140 participants will attend, of whom
about two-thirds come from Europe and the balance from North America.
About one-third is from government and politics, and two-thirds are from
finance, industry, labor, education and communications. The meeting
is private in order to encourage frank and open discussion.
Bilderberg takes its name from the hotel in Holland, where the first
meeting took place in May 1954. That pioneering meeting grew out of
the concern expressed by leading citizens on both sides of the
Atlantic that Western Europe and North America were not working
together as closely as they should on common problems of critical
importance. It was felt that regular, off-the-record discussions would
help create a better understanding of the complex forces and major
trends affecting Western nations in the difficult post-war period. The
Cold War has now ended. But in practically all respects, there are
more, not fewer, common problems - from trade to jobs, from monetary
policy to investment, from ecological challenges to the task of
promoting international security. It is hard to think of any major
issue in either Europe or North America whose unilateral solution
would not have repercussions for the other. Thus the concept of a
European-American forum has not been overtaken by time. The dialogue
between these two regions is still - even increasingly - critical.
What is unique about Bilderberg as a forum, is the broad cross-section
of leading citizens that are assembled for nearly three days of
informal and off-the-record discussion about topics of current concern
especially in the fields of foreign affairs and the international economy;
the strong feeling among participants that in view of the differing
attitudes and experiences of the Western nations, there remains a
clear need to further develop an understanding in which these concerns
can be accommodated; the privacy of the meetings, which has no
purpose other than to allow participants to speak their minds openly
and freely. In short, Bilderberg is a small, flexible, informal and
off-the-record international forum in which different viewpoints can be
expressed and mutual understanding enhanced.
Bilderberg's only activity is its annual Conference. At the meetings,
no resolutions are proposed, no votes taken, and no policy statements
issued. Since 1954, fifty-five conferences have been held. The names
of the participants are made available to the press. Participants are
chosen for their experience, their knowledge, and their standing; all
participants attend Bilderberg in a private and not an official
capacity.
There will be no press conference. A list of participants is available by
phone request at 703-818-3647 between 9am-5pm EDT June 6-7, 2008.
