Bike week again at Lidl & Aldi

Has anyone bought the lidl cycle computer before? I got mine a few months ago and thought it was great, until one day all the info suddenly got wiped off and now it doesn't seem to record anything atall. I know I shouldn't moan as it was so cheap, but still, it was very annoying. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

My last Lidl computer was just annoyingly complex due to being for two bikes. My current Aldi one is probably my best one yet.

I have one of the cheaper Lidl foot pumps in the office for emergencies, but it's almost unusable.

Got got some GT85 today from Aldi
Can't remember how much. I normal use TF2 from adsa three quid a can 700ml

GT85 smells nice but smaller can.

There bike glasses at Aldi today too.

Fwiw, the might-be-wrong person in Brixton Lidl today thought the cycle stuff might be in next Monday - the official start date for the cycling kit is next Thurs, I think. Who knows...... :hmm:

Not yet is all I know for sure!

Don't see shoes at lidl. Think there was at Aldi. I have a look on Sunday as popping back for more plants.

So they don't look at average speed then.

Im going for bike stand, my lbs will be happy fixing my f..kups

'Bicycle workstand' made me lol.

:D

Surely you could just sit on a chair if you were old and decrepit rather than having to get the bike up to your level?

How do you turn pedals with one hand hold bike off ground with other hand turn gear babel with 3rd hand.

You turn the bike upside down? The bicycle work station just looks silly, like a mic stand for bikes. Very odd.

I've lately come to understand just what proper maintenance is worth in terms of my safety so I shelled-out for a Park PCS-10.

Next step is my automated chain cleaning system ..

The stand at least makes it possible ...

Dude. Just buy yourself a bottle of Prolink/Progold oil. It's self-cleaning and gives better results than faffing about cleaning your chain and makes your chain etc last longer.

edit, this stuff, it's about 6 or 7 quid for a bottle

Is it that good ?

I was about to order some LPS3 ...

I'll still be aiming to set up some sort of automated cleaning for my cogs ...though I also need to improve my mudguards ...

could get a hamster on a wheel that drive the chain round with two brushes top & bottom cleaning chain.

It's really good. All the mechanics in my shop use it, it's good for cables and freeing seizing front mechs etc too, I've been using it for about a year and not cleaned my chain once (although I don't do as many miles as you). It seems to kind of extrude the grot out of the links

You don't quite realise what a massive idiot you are, do you?

No, I don't see why someone who was well into bikes wouldn't just get the wall bracket for a tenner instead of shelling out £30 for a stand (thus giving you somewhere to keep it was well)....if you aren't that into it you just improvise, turn it upside down, balance it on something, whatever. People have far too much tat imho.

Better off using the space for something else. This looks handy for a few bike related activities and looks a lot sturdier... can use to check wheels and to lift the back of he bike up off the floor...of course then you would have to bend over or put the whole lot on a table.

that's a truing stand. For truing wheels. Not a bike stand. The whole point of a bike stand is that a) you can use it standing up thus not fucking your back and b) it holds the bike solidly and securely so you don't waste energy trying to stop the whole lot falling over while you turn the pedals/check gears etc.

Just realised you're coming at this from a bmx perspective, aren't you. No gears.

That's why you have hands....I don't see anything wrong with the wall hanging thing for what you are on about, or turning it upside down. The bike stand on the Lidl site looks well fucking flimsy, which is why it looks silly. Have you actually looked at the site?
