Bike punctures

46 miles through a 50 mile ride - another thorn - but a serious one - not a bramble ... probably got pushed in while negotiating some paviors on the Bristol waterfront.

I will order new tyres this week ....

no one has mentioned schwable tyres yet - i believe they are the benchmark

they certainly set a benchmark for poor QC- perfect on a dahon ;)

(yes the marathon plus is very puncture resistant, i still fucking hate them)

the dahon represents a fairly good cost/quality compromise. bromptoms components aren't great. a brilliant and world beating concept let down by poor execution -- sad story of underinvestment in british engineering, like triumph, morris austin etc etc

what alternative would you sugges to marathon plus ?

i beg your fucking pardon?????????

brompton have a waiting list if you want to buy one. their only failing is not having a large enough production facility owing to the fact that they produce in the london area. even so they are leaders in folding bicycles. dahon are dogshit. their production is a joke. it's well known in the bicycle trade that their licensed designs (to trek and ridgeback for starters) are built better than at their own facility. they are a joke, their UK distributor recently agreed to take all of our unsold bikes back.

the marathon plus is a great tyre, unfortunately schwalbe's QC is far from great (still a fuck of way ahead of dahon). i've been through this before. the search function is at the top of the page.

No complaints here about my Brompton daily commuting bike. I could get picky about the foam grips and plastic gear levers, but they serve their purpose well.
